That's a very sad news.
I am concerned though that this incident will be a big blow to the space program, not just because of what happened, but also because the negativistic reactions like this one

yea the space ship was 15 years old, but those space ships are basically rebuilt after every mission...and although far fetched if it was an act of terrorism, it could have been a bomb planted before the ship took off and was activated at a certain altitude...and then was set to explode when the shuttle came back down to a certain altitude.
it is a good target because our space program is another huge symbol of america, like the towers were..and also since there was an isreali on board....plus who would suspect them to attack a space shuttle.
i dont think it was an act of terrorism..just giving a senario |

| I bet you anything it was Sabotage. Either the government or Israel blew up the spaceship given that their was one Israeli on board, they could blame it on Muslims as an act of terrorism to further push their case for war and further have people feel sympathy for the Nazi Terrorist state of Israel. First of all. Wtf are you thinking?
Do you honestly think something travelling at over 12,000 mph can stop over a specific town? The debris is being found in a swath larger than chicago let alone 'palestine, TX' plus if you knew anything about physics and dynamics you would realize there are many structural integrities that could have been to blame for this.

| Its the other way around, I cant believe the level of ignorance and stupidity of the the damn media, putting potential blame on Iraq and Muslims, a 20+ yr old space shuttle blows up and 7 people die one being an Israeli Jew(who was a killer) and it automatically has implications of terrorism, what about Sabotage by the Israelis or the Government to bring hate towards Muslims? THOUSANDS of Iraqi Men women and children could die in Iraq because of these ignorant fascist war mongrer Zionists that are further pushing their agenda with the destruction of a space shuttle.
