my roots are the industrial scene... however, i was never into gothic music. its interesting how people blur the line between the two (industrial vs gothic)... tho its just the same as people calling jungle, trance, etc, all "techno" i suppose.
used to dress the part of a rivethead, also.. but i changed for various reasons. still get my cyborg tattoos and lots o piercings, still wear some dark but not like i used to.
so yea. industrial music is still my roots and basically my core being. bands i like:
FLA (newer stuff more than old)
informatik
project pitchfork
16 volt
delerium
rorschach test
zeromancer
psychopomps
etc etc etc
i prefer the newer sound of industrial recently..
just noticed two new project pitchfork albums came out today, ill have to go try to download those |

Goth stuff is ok to me... but I tend to only listen to progressive trance... and run-of-the-mill trance |

talk about contrasting music genres!!!
trance: - makes you want to go to a happy place
'gothic' music: - makes you want to shoot a nail gun into your skull 5 times then shoot yourself in the head for good measure
Anyone that likes both of these genres or types of music should seriously be checked for manic depression... or is very very musically diverse!:eyes: :eyes: |

super: i dunno. perhaps not all of us want to be in a happy fluffy rainbow filled cloud puddle all day. shrug. industrial to me, isnt about wanting to stab myself in the head. i find it completely beautiful and wonderful. personal preference. |

I happen to very very musically diverse.
And about manic-depression thingy and wanting to shoot your I don't quite agree. I know quite some people in their forthies who are totally goth, maybe a bit to goth but that's not the point, and they are married and are happy with their lives.
People who become goth because they wanna die are just sad. The only real difference between a goth and some other subculture is the music they listen to and the kind of books they read or movies they see.
As I said before, try to look at what the topic is about. I know already that somepeople have all kinds of reason to find goth's sick, pathetic, moronic, etc...
I think the same of people who listen to rnb, but when I see a topic about "who listens to rnb" I won't go to that topic and start posting that I hate it.
Ofcourse this doesn't mean you are not allowed to have your opinion and I'm happy that SuperFarStucker at least took the time to type his/her reason for his/her opinion. The other two were willing enough to pass their judgement might learn something from this.

i like modern electronic classical music like craig armstrong >
dj rush hard techno stuff he plays >
nitzer ebb , funker vogt , terence fixmer electro/industrial/techno stuff >
psy like x-dream , man with no name , astral projection >
disco house like whitelabel mixes from snap , madonna ,... >
some vocal progressive house , tribal hard beat prog>
all kinds a trance including hardtrance>
.....
there good music in all kinda music, for me aslong as its electronic music :tongue2
but on topic i dont really like most kinds a industrial that much , its to unhappy , to dark , to much like dead metal :)
its got the same kinda shouting in mannny cases. (yes i dont call it singin they do it some hard industrial :) )
there good songs never the less with original bassline's and sounds :toocool: |
