| Outside the world of Electronica, I listen to lots of metal. I listen to the roots of heavy-metal bands like Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, and some Led Zeppelin. Of the newer bands I listen to TOOL (MY IN FAVORITE BAND IN WHOLE IN WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!), Cold, Slipknot, Metallica, Ill Nino. Now in the world of Electronica... I listen to Delerium.. and.. thats about it. I listen to lots of Psy-Trance and Goa.. stuff like Infected Mushroom, Astral Projection, Alien Project, MFG, Green house Effect, but thats not really gothic. :) |

i think it would be a *very* large stretch to say that fear factory, even in "soul of a new machine" days, was death metal. maybe on that side, but they sound(ed) nothing like cannibal corpse, deicide, nile, any death metal.
i do agree that they successfully merged metal and industrial, to some extent. obselete, as far as im concerned, is one of my favorite albums of all time. demanufacture is badass as well. |
sweet!! finally somebody that listens to fear factory! and their earlier sounded a lot like napalm death to me, but i dont know why... |

i saw napalm death a few months ago, i think it was on the nile/dark tranquillity/napalm death tour? i only went for strapping young lad and dark tranquillity, too bad the rest was death metal :/
anyways, it reminded me why i hate napalm death. i wanted to go up there and punch the guy in the face! he was annoying ;)
on a semi related note, i really dont like going to metal shows. the scary amounts of testosterone in the 95% male population at them frightens me. the few girls that are there tend to be trailer trash, or completely slutted out groupies... gah. i enjoy the music and all, but i always feel really out of place.
at the nile show, a girl tried to stage dive... and she got so incredibly molested it pissed me off... she was literally having to hold her clothes on with ALL her strength.. and the guys were still managing to grope her everywhere, under her clothes, over her clothes... god i felt so sorry for her. whenever she had a chance she was trying to get down, get away from them, punching their hands just trying to get away... it never worked. they held onto her anyways.
yea. guys at metal shows make me angry >_<
at least at industrial shows, everyone is just angsty and pretentious, rather than uber violent and scary. heh. |

| yeah, metal shows are pretty brutal, but the pain in the pits is worth it. btw, if there is one death metal band that i would recomend seeing live, it would have to be cannibal corpse, seeing them perform makes you headbang till your neck breaks. |

yea i saw cannibal corpse awhile ago too... hmmmm who opened for them? thats the only reason i went to that show too.. . .. . .
i think maybe in flames? curse my bad memory.
anyways, they were alright. but all death metal, is just kinda pointless to me. if i want to be pissed off, id rather listen to some hard industrial... death metal is just repetetive double bass drums, with absolutely no melody and guttural rumblings :/ |

i like older goth, if that is what you like to call it, Joy Division and Bauhaus, some of Peter Murphy's solo stuff.
but from there i am more into synthpop, german synthpop. Melotron, Blutengel, Wolfsheim, De/vision, Endanger and other stuff.
don't do the make up thingy, but i do prefer to wear black most of the time, but that is only b/c it is my favourite colour. go to shows once in a while, but i prefer a club anytime. |

some synthpop and especially futurepop makes wanna tear my skin open...or less painfull just go outside ;)
And people come over to me and say: Hey why don't you like it, it has a trance tune in it?
And every time I have to explain that Sylver and stuff also has trance tunes, but that it is as worse as futurepop. In many ways, Futurepop is like Dance, but instead of having Dumb Girly Vocals, it has Dumb Ugly Male Whining Vocals :whip:
Death to VNV Nation!!!! :haha: ;)
Blutengel has some good tracks though |
