nope..he closed with polaris - inspect her gadget (ripple driver remix)..i diED when he spun that lol
anyway..i really enjoyed pvd's set..im amazed hes getting into the more harder stuff which is cool. His set was really diverse.
top 10 tracks/moments that i rememeber
1. track 7 from okyo set!! total ownage onthe phazon!!
2. incA TWICE!!! yesss TWICE!! :)
3. WORDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 iloved that..if only he spun it to the end instead of mixing in soo early
4. i LOVEDD that pitched up house half hour where he dropped robbie rivwera tracks at like +10!! me, amit and excelon were GROVVIN to those beaTS!! no doubt
5. quantum LEAP! was sooo goood
6. roc project - never (filterheadz mix)!! i lovedd reminds me of tomaz vs filterheadz -susnhine it practically is that but with vocals! those 2 would of mixed PERFECTLY!
7. paul re edited the katana intro mix of cristalle? i wasnt feeling that edit..he killed the best part of it which is that long beginning and started the pounding part earlier..seeemed a little out of place, don't ya think?
8. that whole 20-30 mins where he dropped couch (pvd mix) and som eother prog tunes, he slowed down the pitch at least 10 bpms than at like 6 Raised face to face's bpms and it went all up hill from there
9. POS - REmemeber..i was in pure euphoria when he dropped that..such a good track..daniella requested it..by the next mixing ..it was POS!! that was real cool
10. TECHNO TECHNO TECHNO!! that whole slot of time where pvd just kicked the out of you and pounded some hard ass tech was just sick and than played an anthem..it gave that anthem soooo muchh euphoria..if you know what i mean.but yea
overall i had a really good night..ta meetup was ehh..not many people showed up but its all good..the breakfast was nice..food was good..waiters were just the queerest people ever and snobby as a mofo but all in all..good meeting every1 and hope to see every1 at the next pvd event :). (i would make a shoutout to each and every person i saw, but there is no way im gonna rememeber every single person i saw so just a big shoutout to every1 i saw lol if that makes sense :toothless: :toothless: :toothless: |

Wow...Heh, there is nothing left to say really becides that - Best Paul Van Dyk show I've been to by far...He destroyed me, it was great seeing him play that long - I finally gotta chance to see what he can really do :D
I'm sorry that all of you guys didn't get in...I'm lucky (As usual) I got there around 2:15, and was in by 2:45 heh. I'm thinking 2 things that they should do for Paul Van Dyk events in NY - They should either not do advanced tickets anymore - They should do what they did with the SF last year, first come first serve and when the club is full, they should stop letting people in (Since so many people show up for him) So this way, all that stuff with people that had tickets wouldn't happen heh.
Or the 2nd thing they should do, makes a lot more sence and I prefur this, but I don't see it happening this way - Just only sell so many tickets, and only people with tickets should get in - now thats the way it SHOULD be - But I don't see this happening for some reason
But yes so much fun!! Best Roxy show I've been to yet - It was cool how they hooked up the place with those lights and lazers!! (Just what that place has been missing) And that sound system...wow, I don't remember it sounding that good for Armin or Ferry...either they tweaked it out, or it was just what Paul was playing (I'm pretty sure that it's both:D)
It was so great seeing all you friendly TA's there, and being able to dance and chill with you all! (thanks for the "tour" you gave me drizzt!:D) I met so many of you too that I haven't met before - It was great heh (Hey, around how many TA's total were in there? Just curious)
But yea, I'm starting to ramble now, so I'll just be quiet :D
Much fun :D |

Did anyone else notice that PvD used the same exact transition when he spun Step Right On into Words thats on GLOBAL? Either he simply had the 2 tracks mixed in already or he simply likes the transition and combination of the 2 tunes...that was interesting I thought:D
As for how this PvD set compares to the many others I've heard, I'd give it an 8 out a possible 10. He definitely proved he is the most energetic and crowd-moving dj on the planet, but at times during his set he became inconsistent and too anthemic....On the other hand, this also proves that he doesnt pre-plan his set, and is willing to play whatever...whenever!;)
Tunes of the night:
1. Flaming June (Rework???)
2. Synasthesia
Dissapointments of the night:
1.Sipping Soma-Superconscious
2. Spacefrog-Follow Me (Pvd re-edit)
3. Vocal part of Destroy She Said (Cant Paul edit them out like he did with Reloop-in Society???)
I had a great time with not only the TA's but with all the true PvD Fans...:D |

Did you see when the lazers stoped every once in a while and there was a circular rainbow colored light. They used to use it in twilo doing the same effects..... it brought back the memories ( |

Alright.. time for my full review...
I got to the club at about 12:30 with a whole bunch of people. The line at this point was just rediculous. Went around two corners... there were probably 1000 people standing in it... So I'm thinking this is crazy, there's no way everyone is getting in the club. 2 hours later I've managed to round both corners and can see the club entrance.
Suddenly we hear the bouncers telling us the clubs closed. Our jaws drop. We'd been waiting in line for so long and were so close and they decided to not let anyone else in. I'm totally skeptical at this point though. The bouncers were saying we'd all get a refund if we left and that we'd just have to tell our credit card companies to cancel our charges... sure, thanks ass... i'll just say, "hey chase, I didn't go to the club but I have no real proof what so ever.. give me my money." So that's bull and we decide to wait around. Standing around, I'm thinking, sure there's been going on in clubs lately but this is just crap. I've never heard of a club not letting people in when people leave but that's what the bouncers said. So, one of my friends goes up to the NYPD and asks 'em what's going on. At this point the line is about 100 long. He tells 'em the clubs definately closed.. nobody's getting in. My friend's ready to leave but I convince him to stay.
It's now 4:30. We'd been waiting for about 4 hours and there's only about 40 people left online. Real hardcore fans there... a group of guys had driven from pittsburgh to see him... they were awesome... The bouncers had been harassing us the whole time telling us to go home and sleep or threatening to hurt us. We didn't care. We were getting in. And we did... A little bald guy gave the ok to start letting people in again. We were all just euphoric... there was no greater feeling then standing inside that damn hallway waiting to get my ass felt up by some security guard...
When we got into the club, we were amazed by how empty it was... it was unbelievable that they kept us waiting outside there when there was so much space inside...
The set was great though...well worth the horrendous wait... entered right before he dropped the 2003 remix of Step Right On... so good.. there was so much energy in that place... wow... I only managed to meet a few TAs... Mellissa on the way in.. you seemed really surprised that I was so late.. haha.. so was i... John, I think watching you play with the lazers was one of the highlights of the night, Arturo, Brian, Liz, Caryn, and whoever else I saw along the way...
Oh, did anyone else enjoy those sick breakbeat, techy, electro tracks he played at around 6:30.. one into another... incredible.. if anyone has any idea what I'm talking about or what tracks those were, please tell me! |

hey tranceaddicts. i just joined this forum.
i did the visuals for PVD on friday night. i've never worked a party even close to that large in my life. i was flattered by a lot of people who came up to my booth and complimented my work-- it was a pretty gratifying experience. do you guys have any comments about them? did you even notice them? ;) i have the word from arc & Made events that they will use me again, maybe not for the next PVD, but definitely again the future.
if you're mac users, you can download the software i wrote for free at http://goldbergs.com/dervish. the current version is not there yet- still need to tweak it, and fix some things i learned needed to be fixed on friday- but it will be soon. and you can get the older one for now. anyway, you guys definitely made that an amazing party, despite so many of you being stuck out in the cold for so many hours because the club management were spooked by the cops and Made sold far too many tickets.
i hope to show for you all again!

hey, u were in the lil' booth in the very back facing paul rite? i was hanging right behind you around 6-7. my buddies were there to check out ur visuals on ur monitor cuz it was hard to notice them as much on those weird canvasses. i would say they were pretty trippy to look at. :) vjs are too underrated tho. but then again, unless u are on something, most ppl either just like to dance or stare at the dj (me). my two cents. =) |

| my friend luke, a programmer/musician and another VJ, says that VJs are important because it's boring to just look at DJs all of the time. :tongue2 |
