actually they didn't do it, it was originally bootleg mashup done by some random bloke, the gimps at positiva heard the mashup and then cleared it due to the fact that coco's i need a miracle was a positiva track too and then it became one of the most annoying tracks of 2000

My comment on Fragma's talent has little to do with "Man in the Moon", but rather some of their other productions.

They didn't just sample it, they used the entire melody as the foundation for the tune,

ROFL! If you've ever listened to Cafe Del Mar you might notice that the entire melody is merely a prodigy of an extremely short synth tune repeated over and over, so little merit is in such a contention.

As for the song finding itself the victim of multitudinous remixes, "Man in the Moon" is splendidly unique in the fact that it has added vocals, something which IMHO makes the song superior and more diverse than the original.

The real issue here is prejudice for the original song, not rational assessment.

My point was that the vocal melody was not originally Fragma's, nothing more.

And yes, I agree, that was Fragma's worst track and it boggles me how it could ever become their most popular song.

Nevertheless, the song shines as one of the best from Fragma (courtesy of Damae's vocals)!

Well, I guess that says something about the quality of Fragma's work if not anything else.
Hydarnes
I said that primarily because of the vocal melody. I would have preferred if they didn't sample from cafe del mar, but they did, and I'm not going to fuss over it.

That has nothing to do with my arguement. Sorry, but your favourite group stole one of the most obvious trance tunes ever and turned it into vocal chart fodder. If this is your idea of talent I pity you. And this comes from someone who doesn't even care much for Cafe Del Mar in the first place.

Haha, eww, we're from the same state.

an instrumental would suffice as a nice rework :p

remix.. hardly though

nice touch with the kick in synth hit

vocals are comparable to that of any above and beyond song you can sing with your satellite and gaze on the man in the moon

:tongue3

ive enjoyed fragma - everytime you need me as well

it was a nice tune.. fragma clearly has talent.. but i guess their catch is mainly their female vocals..
