"Asian-ness" of Viva

| Viva is a pretty predominantly asian crowd. I myself am asian, so I have no problem with it, but do other people??? I usually hang out with an asian crowd, but i still know white, brown, etc. people that go there and have a great time! I think Viva is great no matter what. The atmosphere is so amazing and special. People are so friendly and embracing in the club. I meet so many people when I go and I've only been going for the past 3 Fridays. I believe no matter what race or culture you are, you will have fun and make lots of new friends. |

First off welcome to TOTA! Enjoy your stay.
I agree 100% with you. However YES for some dumb reason the "asian-ness" is a problem for party people in Toronto. They like to create excuses for why they don't wanna go there. ing stupid if you ask me. As long as the music is good and the atmosphere is even better I don't care who is in the crowd. And the more people realize that the more diverse the crowd will get.
People are friendly to you if you let them be and are friendly to them. People have to stop following and experiance it for themsleves.
But there no point preaching to the already converted!. |

I'm sorry dude, I just get the impression that you're here because you are either working for the club, or are somehow getting paid by the club. Just the questioning mind I have I guess. Something about you hits me the wrong way.
No offense, if I'm wrong, I apologize and I should be ashamed. However, if I'm right, you should go quietly into the night. Because that is some serious soliciting. (of course if you were backed by the club I doubt you'd be allowed to admit it because that would be horrendous false advertising, so why did I bother asking, who knows)
P.S Mr. Viva, the asian thing has never bothered me, I think the crowd personally kicks ass. |

:haha: Ahahaha, no no no. I dont work for them. I'm just an enthueist (<--however u spell it). I'm pretty much just addicted to it and i've only been going for the past 3 Fridays. So to answer your question, no I certainly do not work for them. |

When I saw 3 threads about viva i wondered the same thing...but then again, I know people who feel the same way about the guvernment i know ppl that feel the way about system. I can understand finding a place that you love and feel comfortable at and being excited about it. when i first started going to the guvernment I felt the same way..my best friend used to to joke that I got my mail forwarded there.
re: the asian thing: I live in markham and i have fully embraced asian culture..from bubble tea, to cheung fun (sp?) to.... well no need to go into details.;) I have yet to check out viva but that will all change come april:)

| Well for me, the thing that makes me unconfortable is not the Asians per se but the Asians that are 50 years old and obviously under the infulence of illicit drugs. This just does not sit well with me. I know its ageism and all but don't these people have families? |

| i personally like asian people. i have alot of asian friends. and asian women are sexy :D . so do i have a problem with them? hell no! |

| Have no problems with asians at Viva. though I would of course prefer if the crowd was diverse and there were fewer older asians. |

Yah i have been to Viva once, and i do not mind the whole asian clubness of it, the fact that the people at the club enjoy to dance and have a good time is all i want, and viva seems to have that, it is only the 40 old cracked out chinese people that annoys me, i know that is ageism but they are usually stoned or something and just stand there. I saw one roll a joint while i was there, but that is not just asian people, it could have been white, african so on that could have done it, just this time it was asian, i will contine to go there as long as they bring in the big acts and i enjoy myself.
