if you don't like it don't listen...

i am not bitching about pvd being crap...but i am saying that i dont like the "mainstream" effect in his sets....whene i was hearing paul_van_dyk-live_at_hr-xxl_clubnight-dab-03-01-2003 i downloaded the set from 2 different servers because i thought they made a mistake with the sets....i couldnt understand if that was pvd i was listening....
i ve seen the man 2 times in my life...and i cried both times because he is the best damn dj and producer that ever existed.
call me a vandit whore...i dont care, but when i listen to his sets i cant stop getting the chills....and even if he wasnt djing and he was just producing nobody could even said about him.for the record i didnt like nothing but you from the start...it was an ok track but not as great as another way or out there.....

if u dont like pvd what the are u doing in this thread?go and listen to dj sammy or something...
Toufas
choobak my last words had nothing to do with u :P

I guess it still is EM but what sucks is that you have these threads "This dj sucks" or "that dj is " or "dj you hate the most" - hell, why not take music for what it is? If you don't like it - don't listen to it, pick something else, but why bash styles? PvD is hard working DJ and producer. He has contributed more to trance than any other DJ, his style is immitated but cannot be duplicated. Let's look at the skill of DJ as well... There are just so many elements to admire, why such an immature statement "pvd is "? Are you looking for acceptance because you are plain short on mates? You think people will think you're cool just because you shared your worthless bit of opinion?

NO...

Simply - "If you got nothing good to say, don't say nothing at all"...

Each DJ has to variate or otherwise everyone will sound the same. Hell, they all can the same choons now - why bother? It's like this jukebox has these records, that jukebox has those records - but they are all the same, just in different order. So, when dj wonders off into new or "unfamiliar to you" territory it doesn't classify it as "". Works for some, doesn't for others.

I say stop this stupidity and if you feel you have to blurt something stupid out - at least base it on something credible. Sorry, but I don't count your opinion as "credible" - nor would it change my views about PvD. So, in the grand scheme of things - your brainfart stank up the room but it will vent out and the only thing that will remain is that you were the one that farted.

:haha:

f-n lamers... gawd!!!!:whip:

Couldnt have said it better myself:D

I think it's ing stupid how people will immediately start bashing Dj's after just a few months of mediocrety... especially hugely established Dj's like Paul and Armin and Tiesto and Oakie, and the rest of the tier one guys. PULL yer heads out of yer arses, these guys FOUNDED the music we all love!!! Who gives a if a recent liveset was subpar, or a recent production is bad.. you can never take away from what they have done and still do for trance.

Having said that much i will agree with the ppl who said Paul hasnt been especially wonderful of late.. but he will rebound, i have no doubt about it.

personally i think its forums like these which label his music, if you read various interviews he never calls his music trance or anything, he labels his sound "electronic dance music" so therefore he plays what ever the hell he wants.

which leaves it open for people to make assumptions on what style he is 'supposed' to be playing. this is where the flamming starts.

Paul is a great dj and he does what he does very well! no doubts about it, and even the people who dont like his productions you kidding yourself if you say "he cant dj for " he is one of the best and you know it!

heaps of dj's i dont listen to like Sasha and all the prog stuff, i just cant listen to it i prefer somethign harder, but i dont bag them, i respect them.

paul's music may not be everyones cup of tea, but hey just becasue you prefer a different sound doesnt mean this sound is , its just you prefer somehting else, so no need to bag it.

^^

im in agreement with this guy.
So what if they having a weak year...we'll wait till they come back up. Till then, enjoy the other producers that are putting out good . I dont like people who on every big DJ nor do I like people who think every PVD song is heaven sent. The man is only human...everyone will have there ups and downs.

Cheers!

Well said Cam :)

I still don't see how anyone can criticise Paul's mixing .. he played here in Sydney for 3 hours last week and did not put one single beat out of place the entire night. Trust me, I was listening :)

I guess it's Paul's turn for the flaming at the moment, in six months you'll all be flaming Armin
