The most popular digital TV channel apparently and the only channel that matters.
PLANET FUTBOL!!
The Champions League is broadcasted on a multitude of channels; you could probably watch it in 10 different languages mate.

As for FSWC, I hate it. I hate everything about it. Sure, they show a lot of footie, but I hate every single commentator that FSW has. Obviously, not when they import the British feed for the Premiership matches. However... Max Bretos, Alan Hopkins (whatever his name is), and the rest of them.
Did I mention how much I hate Michelle Lissel, Carlos "Mushroom Nose" Machado, and Joe "Can you say hair club for men" Pascucci? Can't they find anyone else better looking on that show? The worst part is, not only are they UGLY, they know dick about football and F1.
On the contrary, I'd prefer ESPN. I don't mind the CL commentating team (even JP Della Camera and also Tommy Smyth... lol).
Does anyone know how I can get ESPN here on satellite without going through sketchy Chinatown connections? :p |

Look out for Olympique de Marseille in a big comeback in the CL next year!
Cheers |
oh yeah - sorry for the triple post ... one last statement from me...
Marseille's finest hour in my recent memory is when they were down 4-0 first half to Montpellier in a league match in 1999, and Ravanelli and Dugarry (yes, you read it: Ravanelli and Dugarry... LOL) inspired them to a 5-4 victory in the second half.
That year, they made it to the 1999 Uefa cup final, before going down to a Chiesa/Crespo inspired Parma. |

I generally like to watch football matches at home, alone. It seems like a 'loner' mentality but it's because I can't stand some people at bars who are self-professed 'know it alls'. Plus, that way, when Del Piero scores a hatrick against Barca, I can run around my house, up and down the stairs, yelling GOOOOOL without being mocked :p
As for Scallywags, I really like the place. Not too crowded and the crowd itself is very friendly. It's three blocks from where I live (though I am moving in 2 weeks). As for Duke of Gloucester, I don't really like it as much. There is a long hair dude in a suit collecting $10 from people who watch the match. One time, I was short on cash but I needed to watch Roma-Arsenal. Well, I said I wasn't a footie fan and I got to sit down and order my fish & chips AND watch the game. Saved myself $10... lol. I wonder if that guy is mafia? |
haha it'z called extortion !! :D
anyways, what's the date on the championship match .. i may juss head down , if exams permit .. ! :p |

BBC announcers own for watching soccer.
So laid back and yet so blunt at the same time. They only say what needs to be said.
"so and so has the ball, no taken away from him, ohhh and he commits the most atrocious foul i've ever seen!"
My money's on real madrid, they're just too deep. |

I don't agree with this statement but here you have it ::
MADRID (AP) - Manchester United coach Alex Ferguson said Monday that the European Champions League was "a bigger competition than the World Cup."
Ferguson said that all the world's best players now played in Europe, which made the continent's club competition superior to the global tournament between national teams. "This makes it incredibly competitive," said Ferguson, who is in the Spanish capital for United's European Champions Cup quarter-final first leg against defending champion Real Madrid on Tuesday (TSN, 3:30 a.m. EDT Wednesday on tape delay).
The Scottish coach cited Madrid and United's teams as examples of the soccer talent which the Champions League offered.
"In its side tomorrow, Real will have Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldo and Luis Figo. That is an incredible selection to be able to make. For our part, we have players of different nationalities such as Roy Keane, Juan Sebastian Veron and Ryan Giggs," Ferguson said.
The expected starting lineups in the glamourous match at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium will feature 22 international players: six from England, five from Spain, four from France, three from Brazil and one each from the Netherlands, Portugal, Wales and Ireland.
Ferguson, who guided United to its second Champions Cup triumph in 1999, said that the evidence was plain to see.
"If you look at the statistics of recent World Cups, they don't get anywhere near the Champions League in terms of goals and excitement. This is the tournament without a doubt." |

IMO, national team tournaments mean nothing to me these days. I wasn't excited for the WC2002 either.
