I think that a new kind of trance has risen to popularity, the kind that Tiesto plays and Gabriel and Dresden produce. To me, a lot of G & D stuff sounds like alternative rock with a 4X4 beat, giving it a high potential to go mainstream. This doesn't bother me at all, I still like their music, it's just something I've noticed. Songs like "beautiful things", I could easily imagine being played on the radio if it had accoustic drums.
But back on topic...
Yes, there are many DJ's out there with more technical skills than any of the big ones, but they aren't famous, just like there are probably lots of rock bands with much more talent than what's played on the radio. It's just about getting lucky, writing a hit song, and being in the right place at the right time. |

Progressive is more underground, it's not as much hyped then trance is at this moment, that's what I like about it.
Well this should certainly clear it up |
aye, but there is more and more increasing evidence of this in prog on this message board at least. |

| it is true to some extent that fanatics of for example, armin, praise all his tunes like some kind of a religion. go to a tracklist forum and look at the idt radio shows. whenever u see a prog track in there they all start saying " holy look at that tune. its amazing" but if they would see digweed play that exact tune they would in start calling it boring because it is prog. so yeah there is some evidence of that that some people suck up so much to their favour dj and say everything he plays is the best ever. |

You're right. In fact, one of the best remixes they've done IMO is their version of Southern Sun. It's called "Gabriel and Dresden's Unplugged Mix", and for good reason:p |

| i agree with you people dont give other djs a fair chance and they are missing out.... but it seems to be mostly pvd-armin or tiesto these three are the main ones!!! i dont hear anyone talking bout other djs as much! |

and to reply to dts post, most people want to see tiesto, pvd, and avb because they have the newest high quality tunes - thats y |

In your eyes.
In my eyes they will be, for ME they are classics.
That's what matters to me. |
