| It seems like a Catch-22. People want more when there is so little, yet when there is a lot, people get sick of it. It's all driven by greed rather than raw talent. |

| well you have to also remember that those people became very popular for a reason..if you look at thier dj schedules they go all over the place various times and people go see them ane become addicted..also they release good productions..they release mixed albums..they work hard on it..while others like matt hardwick for example.. he doesnt tour at all nor does he have any productions..scott bond is alot more popular then his fellow resident because he tours more..also another thing..i feel sometimes people bash those top notch dj's just because of thier status..i remember when tiesto in concert was on lots of people were amazed by it but sure enough in a couple of days theu go back to thier old self bashing the DJ..that really annoys me..give credit when its due...nobody thinks ur cool or know alot of music when u do that..this is sheer ignorance. |

no, if it sounds a certain way, is on a major dance label, and then gets chosen youll hear it on ASOT.
doesnt mean the song should be worshipped...
and besides, why the would you wanna listen to some talking over the whole song just to hear something 'new' and 'OMFG amazing'? why not find that tune in a real set, or hear it live?
the only songs that ASOT is any good for are the white labels that never get released. everything else will either be on MTVe or get a ty vocal remix within 6mos! or they shoulda never been there in the first place...(sander kleinenberg).
armin has gone downhill since Boundaries, yet no one pays attention, and ASOT is clubbing for people who need to get out more...damn MC|
just because it is new doesnt mean it needs to get played out as quickly as possible... |

yeh but i wasnt reffering to my local fave dj, im on about big dj's in the scene which dont have that commercial pop idol tag attached. |

I'm sorry but I fail to see how the question in had has anything to do with opening your mind to different genres.
Genre of music is not determined by the people that play it.
Just because a 'pop' culture is forming around trance djs and a minority of productions it doesn't mean people like actually trance music any less, or like those other genres any more.
If you like the music you like the music, you don't say oh that's now just because a small part of the scene is getting a bit 'pop like' It's like me saying "oh i used to love trance and seeing Armin, but now i only like prog now because armin got popular." ......ludicrous.
It's not cool to like stuff that's not popular, it's cool to be into stuff you like. |

asot is not for ppl who needs to go more clubbing! you are going clubbing thursdays?? itīs just a dutch radio show where armin plays all new trance tunes... and thatīs great.. it doesnīt mean that he only plays good tracks (that madonna tune was ) but most of the track he plays are good! |

I think people seem to forget that ASOT is a radio show, NOT a liveset.
As for the "" MC, thats Armin himself. And without him talking you wouldnt know the names of the brand new tunes hes spun.

if a dj plays a tune i will say its
i dont agree and like it becos my fav dj plays it
if i happen to like a tune p[vd played thats because i like it, not because he played it
look at his fritz TL's 8-% of the songs are cack imo but u dont hear "all of the pvd fans loving it because pvd spins it"
so next time u post like that go and play with the cars first. |

well they do seem to be popstars(Tiesto etc) but hey who cares, it means they have been working hard and following their dreams, theres always going to be music around in every genre and ppl are just gonna keep on making music. the beauty about it is those who make quality music will shine past the rest.
As for PVD that dude is playing alot of progressive tracks in his sets now, seems boring. but i aint gonna bag him....much.
