im not close-minded. i like rock/alternative as well. rock was actually my first love in music. but i love trance now. i still hate rap. everyone can like/dislike whatever, but if u dont like what i like, youll prolly get flamed by me :D
that is all. |

oh and btw, i tried to like rap, meaning i was open-minded, but i couldnt bare that horrifying genre that sent waves of hell into my delicate ears, causing my brain to try to comprehend how one could ever like this disgrace to the music community and continue to repeatedly play and listen to it over and over again. and i have been close-minded ever since.
some people gave rap a chance and it failed. therefore they are close-minded after experience. thats what i am :D |

maybe you've only heard of people like ja rule, nelly, 50 cent etc...if you actually knew anything about true hip hop and what it is you'd listen to people like 2pac, biggie, nas, wu-tang, public enemy i can go on and on and discover how great true hip hop really is besides all the whack "rappers" you hear on the radio today |
towards the end of my argument i acknoweleged that their are expections to my point of view. yes i know about biggie and tupac among other who knew what they where doing. california love.
Trazedict i will always love alt/rock. strokes, APC, red hot chili peppers, smashing pumpkins and all the other rock artist that keep the flame going with their brilliant music. long live rock
cheers

I really wonder how you can judge the musical knowledge of somebody you don't know just from his avatar picture. However, according to your logic, apparently you don't know anything about electronic music either:

If you think Jay Z is the second best mc ever, then your not really a hip hop lover, you just think you are.
"Who really the best rapper since Big ain't here?,
Ya all know the answer to that when Kiss ain't here" |

I read every post on this thread, and I must say that I'm ashamed sometimes to be a part of this community.
To all of the hip hop haters who posted on this thread, I don't understand why you even bother posting on this thread. As you can see, the thread is titled, "hip hop lovers post here", not "'whiny bitch ass I'm on every major DJ's n balls and love starting needless flaming on other musical genres because I'm too short minded and don't have the required capacity to understand what other music truly is' people post here".
So to make things short on your part and mine, OFF IF YOU DON'T LIKE HIP HOP. I may not know a huge amount of hip hop, but I feel that I have enough credibility to safely and for a fact say that every single one of you who posted those ignorant retarded ass comments on hip hop, you need to grow up a little and mature your musical tastes before you start firing at something that you can't see. I'm gonna leave this here for now.
Anyways...
1. Mos Def
2. Nas
3. J Live
4. Jurassic 5(can't single em out...too good as a group to single out individual MCs)
5. Talib Kweli
It's kinda hard puting a top 5 for MCs, because their styles and lyrics are so different. It's like rating top 5 trance anthems of all time...no can do. |

dont really have 5 right now but heres 3:
1.NAS illllmatic!!!
2.2pac "only God can judgeme. nobody else."
3.Eminem (for his freestyles too) stuff like sing for the moment, hailey's song, til i collapse, etc. not the "without me" .
and to all you that hate Hip Hop. go get a life. go hate yourserlf or being ignorant. There are as many Trance haters out there as there are Hip hop haters. Yes damn it, some people have tastes and life so they enjoy more than one style of ing music. |

some peeps are taking this board way too serious
!!
If you like Hip Hop then listen to it but dont make threads about it @ a trance board.. I need to listen to this more than enough in real life! |

Yep, it's Windows For Workgroups 3.11 running on top of Windows XP with Connectix Virtual PC. I enjoy tweaking about with the old OS's in that program. I just happened to be browsing TA on IE5 with 3.11 while I came across this thread. :D
While I'm in this thread I may as well drop my two cents. I really fail to understand why some waste their time posting stuff like "go away". The thread starter asked hip hop fans to post their top 5 MC's, at no point did he ask what others thought about hip hop. I neither like nor dislike hip hop. I don't listen to it, so what I've heard is probably all what's considered "commercial" and I haven't digged deeper because it doesn't appeal to me, which means my opinion doesn't really count either way. The same goes for all the mindless haters posting in this thread. I can understand why some people like hip hop, and at the same time I can also fully understand why some people hate trance. At the end of the day, all people are individual and just because somebodies musical preferences differ to your own, it doesn't make them any lesser a human being. |
