I believe it was Airwave - Breathing, some sort of breakbeat remix. |

I didn't even see you at all the whole night. Were you standing in front with everyone else or no??? I had some girl with me who had never seen Armin before (she actually never heard of him, tiesto, oaky, pvd, or even trance. Only DJ she ever heard of was Q-Bert lol) so she was wearing high-heeled shoes (noob) and needed to sit 90% of the night and I was pretty wasted so I needed to sit half the night too :D
As for Daniella saying that Armin seemed spacey, I'll have to disagree. Armin was his usual bouncey self, but when the amp dies 1 minute into your set and then the fire department shuts you off 20 minutes later, it doesnt do much to keep your energy going. Besides that there is BIG difference between the Roxy booth and the Glow booth. Obviously crowd interaction in the Glow booth is 100X better, but thats not the difference I'm talking about. The tables in the Glow booth are well suspended. The tables in the Roxy booth are not suspended at all. So when you jump up and down they skip, this was the problem Tiesto had with Roxy so you kind of have to cut down on the antics or your music will be skipping all night. So, please dont mistake him for being spaced out, when he was trully himself dancing in the booth the whole night, but he had to cut back on a lot of the bouncing which is a shame that Roxy needs to fix that damn booth and sound |

| unfortunetly i didn't have such a great time on friday. armin's tracklist was great from what i heard, and I did manage to get my 76 cd signed by him which made me really happy, but things happened that i won't go into that caused me to leave early. nice meeting some new ta's, and liz thanks for staying with me for a bit and chatting with me when i was left alone :). next time armin comes here, i hope to enjoy it a lot more |

Had a really good time on Friday! Armin spun a nice set... much better than the december one i think... his mixing was pretty good... loved that mix out of strange world where he mixed a straight 4/4 over the breakbeat portion of the song.. so good... i'm a good mix whore! :D
It's always nice seeing the regulars... a lot of people I haven't seen in a long time!
I tried to sneak in a minidisc recorder to record the set but the security took it away... he looked at it and I told him it was a minidisc player... he was thinking about letting me in... knowing they usually let cameras in, I told him it takes pictures too... haha.. stupid me... turns out they were collecting all the cameras that day... oh well... i'll try again next time...
I'm planning on recording lots of new york sets from now on (CP Summerstage anyone?)! ;) |

i had fun on friday. it was nice hearing some great trance spun but such a great DJ. but i never got into the set...it never really hit me and I didn't dance at all, which bothered me. I don't know if I was lacking energy or Armin was but I was sad that I couldn't have a bounce-a-thon with Tom.
Firewall - Sincere was great and Perception blew me away. I was sitting with hitokiri when it came on and I was totally shocked. I was afraid it wasn't the vocal version though, and I was telling him how the vocals were so amazing and then I heard them and I was so happy. Alex gave him the vinyl? Thanks, buddy, that was special.
I really enjoyed seeing friends and TAs more than anything. That's what makes a night good. So I can't really complain. And I give Armin THREE THUMBS up for ending with Marco V! I love that track and it was so energetic. Sounded great too...just pounded right through me.
The space was nice, I agree. I had no problem walking around and there was no line for the bathroom. IT just wan't Columbiahalle and I guess I couldn't get my mind away from that. Anyway...
See you all sometime soon..... :) |

YAY! here i am!!! well, this was my 6th time seeing armin so I am pretty familiar with his sets and sounds and everything.....but honestly, i like him better at glow. for some reason, he just seems to have a lot more energy and excitement for the dc crowd- possibly because there is more of a face to face connection with everyone. but dont get me wrong, i thought he dropped an excellent, even surprising, set. i got there kinda late, right as he spun his first track. me and my friends ran to the front and immediately went crazy...we definitely were getting some dirty looks from the people we jumped on top of! hehe....but armin saw us right away and shone the light on us, cuz he knows we are his NUMBER ONE FANS! :D so anyway, then at that time, the music shut off, and i screamed to armin "sing something!!!" he laughed and said "no, YOU sing something!!" so, i did. me and my friend liz started belting out "as the rush comes" and a few others began to join in. and the sweetest part was- when the music came on, the first song he dropped was his new rmx of it!!! its always fun having a moment with armin. :)
i was into it that night, but like i said, i like him better at glow. i think roxy is more a PVD type place- armin is more personal with the crowd, so a smaller venue fits his style. shy PVD is okay doing the bigger spots... ;)
and no! he did not ask me back to his hotel room! bwaahhaha.....or did he? ;) no, i was thinking of my baby the whole time...and wishing he was there :)
great seein the crew- bri, tek, babytek, nyce, sot, john, mike, manny...and awesome meeting starwarsteve, freeza...you guys all rock! seriously, i always have a blast even just sayin hi to you lovely people. sad that i didnt get to meet some of the ones i've been wanting to, but there will ALWAYS be a next time!!! :toothless |
