Had a great time at this event. The only problem was I kept on losing all the people I was hanging with. Because I was always looking for somebody, I didn't really get into the sets all that much. Guy played some classic tunes tho, and when I went back to hear a bit of Mark Oliver he was throwing down some wikkid stuff. Danny Howells got me moving after chilling out in the Kool Haus for a bit. At the end of the party, we went to the car but the car was gone. That's because those parking bastads towed it. A nice guy gave me a ride to the impound lot guarded by this parking witch (seriously, she even had a broom!). But all and all, I'm not letting it get to me. Next time, I am going to park were I know for sure I will not get towed or ticketed.

Saw a lot of TAs, nice seeing you all even if it was only for a bit.

Tara and Matt, I'm really sorry about your car troubles. Hopefully they it won't be too much trouble to get everything back. And you didn't lose the car so at least that is a good thing.

^^ where did you park?

hey...does anyone know the last song that creamer and k played just before danny went on....great track and i know i've heard it before..........:conf:

^ their last track was their own remix of a dub pistols tune. i dont know the name of the original though. it is one of my favourite tracks right now. it's on the recent sander k essential mix.

edit: Dub Pistols - Problem Is (creamer and k mix)

this turned out to be a last minute call for me to come for this event. what can i say? ;) i had a blast, saw Addy's entire set and he never dissappoints me. Creamer & K dissappointed me a bit, i mean the beginning was horrible, really mellow ass house beats  i wasn't expecting that from them. i headed to see Guy Ornadel and im happily glad that i did :) he played wicked assss trance that i missed hearing at Guv (other than Mark Oliver does). what a fasinating DJ! he absolutely had the flowness & smoothness in the set :) definitely 1 of the best trance sets i heard in the longest time at Guv. around 5 i went back to KH and saw Danny :D he played a very selective blend of house/progressive/techno tracks, amazing DJ :)
shoutouts to everyone i seen, im really bad with names :toothless
and ofcourse the afterparty crew - Az, Ryan, Dallas, Nat, Tara, Margaret & Rye ;)

Yeah, I parked on the street that the LCBO parking enterance is on. Yes, I know I should have read the sign more carefully. Those no parking signs at certain times and free parking at other times. I think just as it turned 7 o'clock, they towed everyone.
sohaness
ouch...did they tow inside the lcbo lot as well?

Sounds like parking around the Guvt is getting worse and worse every time. A friend of mine who was parking in a lot spotted a guy breaking into cars (the lot beside Captain John's). He told the attendant and he just shrugged it off. My friend had to call the cops himself and when they came they caught him somewhere in the lot but by the looks of the ground in the morning, he got into a few cars as there was a lot of glass strewn around the lot. Just a heads-up for people parking in that area. The attendants don't give a so them being there doesn't guarantee any kind of protection - it sounds like they're probably in on it. It's definitely not the first time its happened there either.

That's so ing bad. That's exactly what happened to charmscars and RyanMarcus's car. It got robbed. If they caught the guy maybe its possible to get the stuff back form the police?

Well..here's my review for the night.

I had a pretty busy day earlier, so I didn't get there until 11:45. The line was a little long, but I had no problems getting in. :D

Got in and head straight to the acid lounge hoping to meet up with the TA's - there is met DigiNut, The Highroller and rabbitjoker. We chatted it up for a bit then headed to KH. I thought Addy was pretty good and was getting better by the track. I stayed there until Creamer and Stephan K started and they totally killed my vibe. Like someone had mentioned earlier, they were having technical difficulties....had to leave...and besides, it was getting close to Guy's start time!!! :happy2:

Guy Ornadel played an AWESOME set!!! I really enjoyed his track selection and partying it up with all of you TA's. Although, I thought there was something lacking in the crowd in the main room, and to a certain extent in the KH as well...IMO. I headed over to KH to hear Danny Howells at 4, and he was playing a pretty good set also, I really enjoyed his set but 5:30 rolled around and I was dead tired. I had to get home and sleep...

Shoutouts to everyone I met throughout the course of the night: DigiNut, The Highroller, rabbitjoker, Technoaddict, Tyson, E2EK1EL, Tatgirl, Dallas, Endlesswave, Time2Burn, Maxtuh, Ukranianstud, Trancextasy, HardcoreTrancer & Stereoprincess.

I'm sorry if I missed anyone, but it has been long couple of days and my head is throbbing at mo'.

Special thank you to Nathalie for the earplugs. For the first time ever I was able to hear my friends speak without any difficulties and it didn't take anything away from the beats either. Thank you! :)

See you all at the next event (Max?).

I think that was the first times I didn't have any problems going to a party at the koolhaus/guv. Parking was relatively cheap ($10), although I think I'll think twice about driving down there next time (sorry to hear about that) ... those people really are scum

The lineups were good, it wasn't overcrowded and all of the DJs rocked! I saw a whole bunch of TAs and two old friends I haven't seen since high school so the company was always good.

Thanks for the tracklist TECHno addict.

That story about the dood getting caught is interesting. My car was parked in that lot (the $5.00 one beside Captain John's), and there were a few other piles of window glass in the lot in the morning. Who's to say they were from that night, but I can certainly see it being possible. Maybe we'll get out stuff back. Who knows. As it stands, I should have the car fixed for quite cheap. Bought a replacement window and frame @ the wrecker's today for $35, and will have my mechanic make the replacement when I go in for the maintenance appointment I'd already had scheduled for Wednesday.
--> Thanks to Nat for her help, and a number of you for your kind words :) (Apparently it was not a good weekend for driving to GUV, eh? Towings, break-ins, WTF?!)

Re: The evening itself, pretty good indeed. Addy's sound bores me, so I wasn't feeling that. Was also hoping that he'd drop the Hamel mix of Prince's "WhenDovesCry", which is forthcoming on RR1000, and which he has one of the few TPs right now, but no luck there. He played well though, I'll give him credit for that (6/10). C & K were boring as for at least the first half of the set, and I agree Matt, who plays "NewYork, NewYork"? That's more than a year old (released a year ago, written a year before that), and not exactly remarkable enough to really see play anymore. They picked it up @ the end of the set, and it sounded pretty good, but I give no credit for laptop sets 0/10 for them. Howells brought a great set. Especially considering that he'd played the three previous nights, including the marathon in Mtl. Not so much a fan of the harder tekkier stuff, as it wasn't motivating me to dance too much. Later on, things were wonderful though. Technically, Danny was Danny, seamless and in total control. Matt, I still can't believe that he wrecked in Mtl. I'd thought him to be invincible. I guess enough alcohol makes him mortal too though ;) I had to run up to the front of the booth to thank him when he dropped "Persuasion" as the last track of his set (before the encore). That set deserved an 8/10.

Shouts out to everyone who I partied with, and chilled with afterwards. Your companionship is precious :D This post is already too long, so I'll not go into detail. You all know who you are.
Tara and Az: We got a small fix of Howells after all. And we'll get Montreal sorted out another time :D Cheers.
