Some of you guys are so fake.
Who cares what kind of music whoever likes, who cares if Tiesto is playing vs. Digweed, who cares if a rapper comes here to check out the mysterious world of Trance. Its all music. It affects all people, and it affects all people differently.
So any justification of 'better', 'only for tranceaddicts', etc, is a joke.
Music is for everyone to share, not compare. |

I dont have a problem with people enjoying other types of music here, however, if this website started to become more of a prog oriented/loving place id have a problem with it. It would totally be about another genre of music.
Also, stereoprincess mentioned that it was a website that more about the scene, which i agree, but remember Swamper made it for the love of trance, not prog. And most TOTA's are secretly prog lovers and like it better than trance but they dont want to admit it. If you choose a prog DJ over a trance dj, you would rather listen to prog and that means that you like that music more. Im not talking about specific instances, im refering to a general feeling i got when many members here post reviews of say Digweed and Howells or Kleinenberg, when johan Gielen was ripping apart Viva.
One time i even read a review that said they walked into the main room (at guv) and walked away becuase they couldnt take "that music".....that music is called trance.:rolleyes: |

This isn't meant to be an attack towards you or what you said, but
when people use the term "rape" or "that DJ raped", they aren't making reference to someone "sexually assaulting" another person. It's like saying "I got jewed". You're not saying it because you hate jewish people, but rather as an adjective.
Rape is BAD, but using the term when not implying sexual assault is different IMO. |

Well, I know that its not meant to be in a bad way. I just don't like it. Its my opinion. Same goes for jewed, it is used in a bad way because it means that you are being ripped off. Its not just an adjective with no meaning. It did start from hating Jewish people and sort of worked its way into regular language and I personally don't use that word either. But at least for this it has always meant something bad and all of a sudden is not being used as something positive. In the case of being "raped last night at the club" its actually taking something that is really bad and turning it into something positive.
There are sooo many other words to express a DJs preformance, that "raped" is just not needed. But I do realize that I can't change the way people talk and the words they use but I can have an opinion about it. :) |
