I'd rather be clapping with the music than hopping around at random. The crowd wasn't with the music at all, people were jumping like mad during the breakdowns and blowing whistles out-of-sync with the beat.
Besides, I was loaded down with essentials for the trip up. If I started jumping there's a good chance things would have fallen out of my pockets. |

Hey everyone, I'm soo sorry I missed the TA meetup at 5pm :(
It was a miracle that I even made it to New York with how full the flights were, but at five I was just getting on the subway at JFK airport to get into Manhattan. Having never been in the city before it took me some time to figure out where in Central Park I needed to be, so I got to Summerstage just after Paul was finishing up the Sander K Mix of Rock Your Body.
Did anyone maybe see me? I had a big-ass backpack on at first (because I'd come straight from the airport) and was wearing a light blue plaid shirt with cargo shorts. After I dropped the bag I was probably most easily spotted dancing like a madman. :) I tried to find people, but didn't know what anyone looked like. There was one guy I spotted with a TrancEaddict shirt, but he said he wasn't with anyone else.
Anywho, I personally thought that it was an AMAZING evening. Here were my highlights of the night:
DJ Tiesto - Traffic
Who knew Paul would play a production from his rival? ;) I didn't think much of this track when I first heard it in mp3, but it is much, much better live, and I have much more respect for it as a result. I think it really kicked off the energy of the night, and perhaps was the most powerful reaction of the crowd the whole time. Destroyed.
A Different Journey to Vega
I was really glad to hear Paul play this, because I think it's one of the best and most overlooked of his productions.
Nu-Nrg - Dreamland
He finished what he only began to play at Ultra. (But no End Kiss; did anyone else see that guy's sign?) Hearing this live in its entirety for the first time only deepens my love for it. The crowd simply exploded.
As The Rush Comes
I thought this would be one of those tracks that isn't as good live, but it was totally the opposite. Just as I was scratching it off my list for possible best of the year this put it back in the running. And twice, no less!
Second Sun - Empire (TPOD Remix)
WOW. Epic and electrifying. I've underrated this one.
For An Angel (E-Werk Club Mix)
This was the first time I'd ever heard my favorite live from Paul. There couldn't have been a more classic moment of the night in my mind. Not to mention the crowd went insane for it.
Crush
Probably the real star of the night. People couldn't get enough of it. Neither could I. :)
Reflections
I think this is one of his best productions since For An Angel. It has a perfect summery vibe, is simple and beautiful at the same time.
Here's a correction or two to the tracklist with comments:
The part from Nothing (Returning 93) to Empire was simply mindblowing!!! I want those IDs!

Modulation - Spirits was also near the beginning.
There was some track in the first half with these excellent Balearic strings, but I don't know what it was (or which ID).
I heard a killer dark trancer near the end, but I'm not sure which it was.
Okay, I'm done. :p |

Nah, it was black with white lettering, and I asked him myself if he was with any other TAs. |

where were you in the crowd? Most TA's got there early and were directly in front of PVD back a bit. Or around that area anyway. I hung out with RussianCrush most of the set and then DrummeRaver86/Sirocco torward the end. I couldn't find my way back to my old spot, the crowd drifted too much |

No, I didn't see that shirt. The only people I spotted who I thought might have been TAs were a bunch of asian guys with Vandit shirts over on the bleachers to the left of the stage, but I decided they weren't and didn't bother asking them. |

I was about thirty feet from the stage in the center, and then later a bit further away to the right-center. I didn't want to intentionally push people out of the way (because it got pretty packed that far in) so I couldn't get any closer than that. |

That's what I figured. I think some of them were just smoking out. Forget that! I danced the whole time, which is how it's really enjoyed. |
