No, they lost the WS in '01 to Arizona, they lost in the ALCS in '02 to Anehiem, they lost the WS in '03 to Florida.

regardless vlad- the yankees are perhaps the cockiest team in all of MLB. they went in this thinking they were gonna own, and look who got owned. you dont have to have won a ring or a WS in the past to not be a arrogant mofo tho!

ps derek jeter needs a foxbeat to put him in his place! :D

Its funny How the Marlins averaged 15,000 people per game during the regular season, and how half of Pro Players Stadium was full of Yanks fans during the World Series. I still have yet to meet a die-hard Marlins Fan. I give credit to the Marlins and their pitching. The Yanks beat themselves most of the series by going 6 for 50 with Runners in Scoring position...I tip my hat to Beckett and Mckeon....this one didn't hurt as much as 2001, simply because we got outplayed most of the series....you all know the Yanks will be back Next year.....

BTW, Im glad we were beaten by the Marlins and NOT the Red Sox.....1918!!!

the thing is, the yankees *may* not be in it next year. lots and lots of changes in store. anyway, i hate all this stupid 1918 crap. its so god damn annoying. there is no such thing as a curse. if there was, then the new york rangers would not have won the stanley cup 10 years ago. so stupid and only STUPID yankee fans bring it up all the time. and who didnt see that all yankee fans would say 'well, i knew we were gonna lose the WS, but at least we beat the red sox!' but we all know what would've been said had the yankees won. i cant wait till the yankees just start losing and george starts crying.

You obviously dont follow the Yankees much - Yankees are probably the least cockiest team. This team is full of professionals that have been around the block quite a few times.

Are they cocky? No. Are they confident as hell? Yes, and they should be. If you were on one of the best ball clubs in the league with one of the best records in the league - you would be confident too. When the Yankees were playing the Sox, did you see Yankees going crazy when they lost, how about when they won (not including game 7) or how about even when they scored runs. These guys dont celebrate until its over. Dont make a team look bad just because they win alot please.

As for the Guererro's situation, the Yankees are interested in him, but Guererro doesnt want to play for either NY team. The Yankees are rumored to be interested in Sheffield more than Guererro.

when you're team has a ridiculous 160 million dollar pay roll you better be confident...but i guess money doesn't buy championships

I agree it doesnt. The Yankees were doing so much better when money was the least of the critizism. Before Giambi and all these other posers, there was the REAL DEAL Yankees - Jeter, Tino, Brosius, Knoblauch, Paully, Rivera, Spencer, Girardi, Strawberry, Mendoza, Nelson, Lloyd, Wetteland, Petitte, Cone, Wells, etc...

Look at the Twins for example, although they arent in the WS, with a 50 million dollar payroll, they are doing pretty damn good.

How about the Rangers and the $252 million dollar man - money doesnt even buy the Rangers a few wins.
Highmay
blah blah blah...

we'll sign vladamir and win all over again...y'all can go back to your little caves until (the majority of )you people become baseball fans again in october...
