Ehhh, dont be so sure - I think the Yanks like Sheffield more than Vladimir.
Notible free agent pitchers:
Bartolo Colon
Kevin Millwood
Greg Maddux
The way the Yankees history goes with pitching, Maddux should be a shoe-in. Picking up Millwood and Maddux should be a pretty good pick up. colon will probably resign with the White Sox. Tejada is also a free agent, but the Yanks wont be interested. |

The Rangers need to get rid of A-Rod first before they can afford anyone else.
Anyway, Steinbrenners check book has alot more depth than the Rangers - and Im sure that Millwood and Maddux would be more interested in the Yankees than the Rangers. |

| 99.9% that vlady is staying with the expos. he does not want to play in a big market, meaning he does not want to play for either NY team, Boston, Chicago... etc. plus, he lives with his mother and she doesnt want to leave montreal. only two good things for me about Vlady coming to the yanks is a) i can go to a game and see him whenever i want and not have to wait for the expos to come to shea. (plus i feel stupid wearing a mets jersey, yet cheering for anything vlad does) and b) he will finally become recognized by the average joe as one of the best players in the game. we all know he is, but ask samantha jones aka YaNkEEfAn6969 who vlad is and she'll probably repsond with 'president of russia?' and, i know i said he doesnt want to play for NY, but Omar Minaya (expos GM) was offered a job with the Mets. so if he came he, maybe he would have a little pull on Vlad. one can hope, can't he? |

| I doubt Vladimir will go to the Mets, GM or not, he said he doesnt want to play in NY. But you can wish on it - if the Mets get him, that would be the biggest thing since 86'. :tongue2 |

how is it even possible montreal can even afford to keep him when you have an average of 5000 people goin to your games in montral...its impossible...some very possible destinations are the SF Giants because they have money and his old manager felipe alou who he is good friends with is the current manager of the giants along with a lot of hispanic influences on the team and the baltimore orioles because they have a load of money and they aren't too much of a big market either, neither is san francisco |
