Not in here they don't.
Look how much praise Armin gets for playing new bland generic trance tracks in between old bland generic trance tracks in his ASOT show. |

DJ Shadow. Probably the most skilled DJ I've ever heard. He mixes breaks/hip-hop/funk/oldies. Weird combination, but he makes it work SO DAMN WELL. Get his 2003 Essential Mix / Diminishing Returns(DR is the release name for it) and you will see. He is a god of sampling. It's incredible.
DJ Q-Bert is also very skilled, but I haven't heard any of his sets. Just little bits and pieces.
Zabiela could use more recognition, but people are starting to hear of him, and I think that fairly soon he will be a big name. With good reason. That boy knows his . |

Crystal Method - anyone who can drop AC/DC tracks in the middle of a techno set and keep the crowd going gets my respect
Darude - I dont care if you think he makes cheese, he is an awesome DJ and really gets the crowd going, and he plays alot of quality tunes in his sets ;)
and CL of course, he is a ing amazing. |

| darude? sorry "holmes" but darude is the reason people think trance all sounds the same, that sandstorm crap was so overplayed i thought i was gonna hear it forever. |

I gotta agree with Cristopher Lawrence too - Hook Recordings is a masterpiece. Havent seen him live yet unfortunately :(
Jon O' Bir is also underrated (although not on these boards) |

Okay, good, I don't feel so alone on this issue then.
Just out of curiosity, Mr.Mystery, but who are your favorite DJs? |

I don't really have any favourites. I mostly favour our local DJ's like Orkidea and Tab... |

chris lawrence is an excellent dj, but his style is too un-european for my taste and he bores me.

100% agreed. and i have the same opinion of Ferry too despite his occasional unimaginative blend of electro-influenced trance.
i definitely think Tiesto is underrated on this forum, but that's just me ;) |
