Lee Burridge is, deep dish ain't bad.
And Tiesto can mix in key ( :stongue: ), eh? means all when you can't beatmatch
when it comes down to it, if all you're doing is attempting to beatmatch, you ain't all that

Maybe not overrated for Digweed Az, I respect he's done a lot, but right now I don't see him leading the forefront of new sounds, Zabiela seems to be the one who's going to do that

Btw. How is Lee Burridge overrated? Maybe there's a big hype in the UK but as of the rest of the world he seems a bit unnoticed and all i've heared from him so far was ing ace (especially when teaming up with Craig Richards).

Very well said Inertia. I dont want a bunch of poser fans and djs in the scene that will ruin. I like it with it just underground, with dedicated fans and djs. It makes the scene more "special" imo.

nah, Digweed is the armin of the prog world, has a great radio show, plays loads of new tunes...
only he can mix better than pretty much anyone else, and the difference between one set and another is immense
but Zabiela is the future
unfortuneately there are no extra special up and coming trance DJ's
Eddie Scalliwell doesn't count cos his scratching is wank!

Oi, Eddie rox0rz :stongue:

Seriously Az, bar Ferry who's daring to be a bit different, Tiesto is boring me, Armin plays his records too slow and PVD just needs more tunes, there is a lack of 'trance' dj's to a high quality, theres the producers who can mix abit, like above&beyond & Lange, but i'd rather they made tunes for ppl to mix. It seems hard to find a DJ who hasn't tried producing or vice versa these days

Exactly! I agree with every point.
Az
Ferry is an "electro king" :stongue:
the majority of the big trance DJ's can't even beatmatch half the time, they deserve all respect
Eddie Halliwell deserves nothing simply for scratching the wrong record at Tidy 2 :stongue:

we'd get 9000000100000000000000000 more DJ sammy's,
it would be the new trend, and you'd get every
last from 50 Cent concerts invading .

yes, the DJs deserve fame, the scene needs more
coverage, it is what is right, but as a friend
of mine once quoted when debating the subject
of trying to get my common friends to learn about
edm, and show them a real party, "the people that
are not capable of forging their own revolution do
not deserve it."

think of how much youve learned, read, and actually
put in effort to know what you know, that equals
respect for the music and the scene. thats the kinda
you dont just happen upon, you bascally earn it.
without that, i think the scene could die. its about
the true fans. else, it would just become another
form of pop :/

electronica isnt to be handed to anyone on a silver
platter, i believe you should WANT to know about it,
not just happen to it. sucks for the people that live
in places where there is _NO_ electronica available tho...

thats a really good way of putting it. dj's do deserve fame, most of the ones that deserve it are in there own right. i guess when a dj is famous, it is bacause we like them for there style, the only way to sell out in this biz is to try to to be like the rest of the music biz like moby did. dont get me wrong, when he was a nobody, he was great, but do you really want moby to be the mainstream face of edm? i dont. wouldnt it be nuts to see steve lawler getting a spaceman at the mtv awards. it also might be the end of an amazing thing we all have hidden here.

James Zabiela... ok, so this one is sort of cheating,
he did rank as #11 this year. but still, he'd ing own Tiesto's
ass any day. the kid has come a long way in a VERY short time,
and its because of something; the SKILLZ. i mean, who the hell
spins trip hop/breaks/melodic prog/electro/techno/house/trancey prog/tribal
all the while scratching like there is no tomorrow and throwing
in acappellas, live edits, spinning tracks in reverse, effect
combination only he can think of, playing 2 copies of the same
track at the same time, only one is in reverse and matches up,
etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, AND STILL MANAGING to be a nice guy,
really humble about his skills. top 3 = bleh. zabiela = win.

good stuff...
im also down with schulz, a very creative remixer imo.

John oo' Fleming ... First Dj to make a progressive based club (Arc nyc) Into a trance loving community
Matt Hardwick... was playing Holding on to Nothing about a Year before PVD ever new about it ;)
Robert Giteilman ... First dj to play Bubble Fish - Sushi Lovers

John'00'Fleming is one of the more underated djs/producers around IMO. Also have to agree the Chris Lawrence is also underated, this is mainly because they play a more underground style of music as opposed to most of the commercial fluff that gets played by the 'popular djs'. However, thier sound is catching on and they deserve a lot of respect for staying true to thier respective styles. Other than that I think Eddie Halliwell is pretty underated, at least he is in North America. I saw this guy in Ibiza and he ing rocked it. I'm not that into the harder style of trance but this guy was really something special, awesome tunes, excellent mixing/scratching etc. Also have to say that there is an excellent techno dj coming out of Canada that deserves a lot more recognition- Preach from Montreal. This guy is an amazing dj and is starting to blow up as a producer as well, remember his name- you'll be hearing it a lot over the next few years. peace.
