its basically a pun against all those airheaded people that get
online and use those acronyms, start off "hi" or, "hi2u" or, to
add some intensity "omg hi2u", and then "asl?!" and then bla bla...
basically, when they if you get OMGHI2U`d, theyre calling you
clueless, airheaded or damn annoying.

well, in my opinion, its just not the same. when im listening to
deep house, tribal percussions with sexy rhythms, the music is,
well, highly sexual. and being able to connect with someone of
the opposite sex on such a medium is WAY better than being next
to some sweaty dude saying "damn man, Lawler is kicking ass tonight."
with females you can have a conversation without words, just
because of the male to female bond we have. think of it in
terms of instinct. the music controls us, makes us dance and
feel somewhat primitive, without much complication. it is a
basic urge to want to be with people of the opposite gender
more than with someone of your same sex (of course, unless you
swing that way). i have many (girl) friends that go clubbing
with me, they are not bad people, or stupid (not all of them
at least) but they could know less about the music. so i cant
really even talk to them about it. when you can find someone
who feels the same way about the music you love, and understands
it, it isnt the same.
now, yeah, TAs are just too damn horny, but im pretty sure they
find it refreshing to find a girl who knows just as much - if
not more - than them about edm. and hell, think about it, we
need females in the scene, unless its a gay club, its rather
sad to have a great DJ and 99% of the people there are men.
and, simplifying even a bit more, its just math.
to men:
woman > man
woman who knows about edm > woman
woman who knows about edm >>>>>>>>> man

By the way, I totally see the point in your reply to Tranceaki (cute name by the way.... little trance). I definitely find a woman more attractive if she likes edm too. :)

I would say that there is definitely a small percentage of females who actually know who is who in the scene and it is definitely a plus for me when I meet a potential friend (girl) who is somewhat informed and passionate about the music like I am. I don’t rule out the rest though because I love other genres too, and I always get excited at the chance to convert someone:) But my main preference is and always will be electronic. |

you see thats were youre failing to see the point of this argument.
we're not questioning your value, we're saying we love you, but
theres very few of you and we want more! what we're questioning is
is why the hell there aren't more of you, as women are just as
capable as emn, but for some reason the women who are "addicted"
to edm are a lot fewer than the men that are. |

I’m pretty sure you were the one who started the generalization about females in the edm scene. I just posted my thoughts on that topic and she agreed and added her own thought about TA females specifically. I don’t think she failed to see the point... |

first of all, i kind of detect a little hostility in your post, no
need for that, just a nice discussion we're having. if its just a
misconception of mine, well, cheers either way :)
ok, time to answer to this "generalization" remark ive gotten twice
in this thread. yes, i did use a generalization, because, well, once
again, the general population of females is not interested in EDM.
then, the general population of females that DO attend events, are
completely clueless about the music. the ones that aren't are an
exception, which i did mention mind you, but the general aspect
of things is that theyre not interested. so i still see nothing
wrong with using a generalization on this subject, always making
sure to give credit where credit is due of course, but you have
to face it, it kind of is the truth.
also, not necessarily referring to you, but why do some women
feel offended when i say there are a lot more men interested
in edm than there are women? its not a personal attack or a
sexist remark, its nothing more than a mere comment. its like
when my friends from US say that the electronica scene here in
Dominican Republic is very small, that Dominicans aren't very
interested in edm. i'm a Dominican, and extremely addicted
to it, but i must agree, because its the truth. the biggest
party ever thrown here was just about 3200 people, had the
time of my life, Deep Dish kicked ass, and i think it's really
been one of their best sets. but, hey, that doesn't change
the fact that the scene in this country is rather small.
yet it still does reflect what i've seen everywhere else,
there are fewer women than there are men. |

Sorry, I wasn’t being hostile, I’m just really cut and dry when I’m trying to make a point. You accused her of missing the whole point and that threw me off because I thought her comment was right on the topic. Anyway, I agree that more men are into edm than women, but I was also sort of questioning what qualifies you as being a true "tranceaddict" or truely being "in the scene". I think going to clubs in South Beach regularly because you love the music counts for something.
and this whole topic also depends on where you are from too... |

the point i was gonna trying to make is that is the site i go to for my online trance chat and all that... i love to speak to people with the same interests as me, but i sometimes find a seemingly all male forum (addmitedly most of my posts are in the producer section) a bit boring after a while...
most of the fun forums i go on are uk based clubland ("the scene"...lol) forums. which to all intents and purpose are based around electronic music but in all varieties... i think its really cool when theres loadsa girls on there too! makes things much more fun!
its such a cool site, i just expected there to be more females on here... sometimes i have picture the majority of the 'tranceaddicts' as nerdy types who never get out the house and get to see where this music we all love really thrives....IN CLUBS!!!! (THAT ARE FULL OF GIRLS FUNNILY ENOUGH!!!!!)
