in that case dont you think there must be some truth in it if this 'bandwagon' is so large?..i think so.
ps. its got nothing to do with jumping on any bandwagon. its down to me going to see him, then forming an opinion. dont beleive the hype. |

EVERY time ive seen tiesto lately you can spot his mixing is well dodgy theres times for example at cream last yaer when there was some heavy double beats sh*t going on and he just quickly switched the crosfader over...completly unprofessional and definitley not the sort of performance that woudl make me think he was worth $250,000... |
No matter how popular or professional they are, dont all DJ's make a mistake in their mixing once in a while? |

but lets be honest...no dj is worth that amount for a single set. even the likes of diggers and sasha, never mind tiesto. anyway i dont want this to go into a tiesto debate, because its old and played out, it comes down to personal taste i spose. |
Agreed :)
But I think thats a problem of our society there a quite a few people who gets too many dollars..... |

Just one question:
How long did all the "superstar" DJs work their asses off for little $$$$ before they made it big time???
Just a thought..... |

there is no way paul makes that much money
| quote: | for a typical two hour set:
PvD is anywhere from 24-40K USD
tiesto - 25 000 usd
paul van dyk - 30 000 usd
think most A list deejays make between 24-60K for a 3 hr set. |
Not a chance in hell, it wouldn't even be remotely close to that in UK/europe... I think you guys are wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy over... |

yes maybe they do, but they seem to be more frequent with tiesto than most other djs ive seen, and other djs usually dont make sucj blatant c*ck-ups of their mixing as he seems to do. the example i gave was just that.anyway, like i said i dont want to go into a tiesto discussion cos we'll be here all day! i think its obvious that the $250000 figure was just someones imagination gone for a walk in the park, and clearly no dj is worth that much for a nights 'work'.
anyways, just to shed some light on djs fees, im told (pretty relaibly) that sasha got paid £12,000 for his 3hr set at colours at the liquid rooms in nov last year. he was playing quite a few gigs in the uk, and what im told happens is that he lets all the promoters know that he is available for gigs, and then they effectively 'bid' for his services. this is what ive been told happens though someone may know diferent |

Well, in PvD's case, he's playing more of his own material than other DJs usually do. See all the threads complaining about unreleased PvD re-work and re-edits... |

| i dont see pvd/tiesto making, 25 for a 2 hour set, not a chance, that is rediculas. Id say around 15 during a normal tour. Mabe paul makes 25-30 for his 6 hour sets, but i doubt that for 2. |

Nothing ridiculous about 25k for 2 hour when rock stars make 10 times or even 100 times as much. |

| how many people go to see the rolling stones? 50k-100k? and since when do rock stars make 2 million dollers a show or even like 500k a show? rock stars might go on tour once every few years. how many times does paul dj a year? |
