Indeed 2mil$ is waaaay to much, at least here in the biggest stadia where the stones and who not come to perform. They do make a lot, but nothing near 2mil, not even 1mil.
Also Tiesto states in an interview on 'Koppen' on our national TV station that 25 is exagerated, and 10K is his going rate. |

| yea i guessed its about that much. When artists go on tour im sure the label makes most of the money with rock/pop/rap concerts. Same with selling cd's, producers/artists only gain a verrry small fraction of the total profit. Even if a cd sells 10 million coppies that doesnt automaticaly mean that they are making millions, artists/producers may make like 100k, but i doubt much more. |

something i found;
Paul Oakenfold was the highest-ranking DJ in The Sunday Times latest annual poll of British salaries, earning £4.5million (US$7million) the paper revealed this week.
"This year the Los Angeles Times reported: 'Oakenfold's not the most innovative music maker in the world . . . but he is arguably is the best businessman dance music has ever seen", said the Times.
DJ magazine's analysis of the superstar jock in their own recent poll also honed in on Oakey's business acumen though appeared less than impressed with his failure to grant them an interview.
"Paul's clearly a very busy man with seemingly impenetrable levels of management around him and we are only a humble dance magazine," they complained.
"It would probably have been easier to get an interview with Tony Blair."

I know from pretty reliable sources that both PVD and Sasha got between 10-15 lakh rupees when they came to India in 2002 and 2003 respectively.
Thats bout 30,000 dollars.
But they were big events with bout 10000 people turning up for PVD and bout 6000 for Sasha.
The organizers still end up makin big money though cause enrty was 500 rupees[bout $12]
Thats 120,000 dollars at the gate now counting bar sales[bout another 120000] plus money coming in from sponsers.
The Djs make money, the organizers make money, the crowd has a ball.
Everyones happy.
The system works.
So lets not complain on whether they are worth it or not. |

| not really sure if u know how night clubs work... the cover is... literally to COVER the club, on DJ, and all other fixed costs(ie rent, electricity, water, etc)... ALL the clubs profits come from alcohol... its fairly simple. |

Hahahahaha ...... absolutely! Not MAY but WILL, take any sports league for example ... Heck, as long as the syste mworks and the tickets are not too expensive, I dont mind it. As long at the tickets here in Canada for big name DJs vary between $15-$40 (average $25), I dont mind much ... |

oakey does make something like 20000pounds per a two hour set. and he is also in the guniess book as the highest paid dj. but thats also cause he has a pretty successful record label.
i dont care how much the djs get paid really. as long as ticket prices stay reasonable. and they are right now. so im willing to pay what they ask at the momment.
and a lot of time i do believe they deserve the money for working their ass off. Think aboutit playing 15 sets in month in say north america. thats a set every two days, plus (for big djs) interviews in between, travelling being the biggest use of time, sleeping, all their .
and they have to listen to new records sometime, dont they? plus do their record company biz. its a in lot of work to be an top dj. not just go out there and spin your tunes, sorry. they are self made businesses, and they should be paid for their time. |
