well, i may be going out on a limb here, but if you're ass is #1... i'm almost 99.9% sure that Zabiela can mix better than your ass. that would make him #1.

but seriously, why wouldn't zabiela ever be able to be #1? you have no evidence to back your statement. yet when you think about it, sasha and digweed have been in the top 5 PLENTY of times. and they are progressive DJs. Zabiela is also a progressive DJ... who just happens to be the most technical DJ out there at the moment. no DJ does as many things as he does while mixing. he is continually tweaking the tracks he plays... adding effects, layering two tracks, adding an acapella, and of course... the scratching. so explain how he can never be #1 besides the obvious 'high school popularity vote' (not judged on anything relevant to the topic at hand, just popularity)...

Then the turntablist walks in...:p
whiskers
/hijacks thread

let's talk about the God that is James Zabiela

and turntablists.

turntablists can suck my dick. they might be good for scratching hip hop, but Zabi >> turntablism

in fact, Zabi is #1 dj on my list for his skills

anyone who flames him, i will personally rape in the ass with a goatse stick.

/not being entirely serious, except for the Zabi = God thing

heh... well, i thought it was obvious that i was talking about EDM DJs. of course DJs labeled as 'turntablists' would have more technical skill that zabi or any other dance music DJ... but zabiela is by far the most technical DJ of our musical tastes. i dont always agree with his selection of tracks, some are just not my style, but there is no denying his skill. incredible. and he's only 22 i believe... ranked #11 in the world at age 22. just another reason why by tiesto's age he will be #1.

um, I don't think so...

eh, have you ever been to Holland?

and I agree that Zabiela is technically a better dj, but that's not enough to make him #1. everyone knows, including Tijs, that #1 is a combination of talent, global exposure and popularity. and frankly zabiela still has a long way to go to get there. and zabiela is in my top 3 right now, but that doesn't mean anything.

and even then, Zabiela is still not the most talented dj technically-speaking. there are many turntablists that are way more impressive and they are not even in the DJ MAG's top100. ever heard of Qbert, Mixmaster Mike, Craze, etc.?

Tiesto in Concert #2 is a good idea as long as it differs substantially from the first one. He can make it happen, so let's wait and see...

How is a turntablist not an EDM DJ? Plus lets face it, as much as you don't want to admit it, hip-hop/rap is indeed a genre within the EDM community. More so now than ever. (in response to whiskers comment)

Techno (true techno) also has alot of talented DJs who use alot of layering and flanges.

Looks like Zabiela is gonna be this years TA fad (last years was G&D).

How isn't it? The beats are created using an electronic beat machine plus alot of effects that are used are created on a synthesizer. There are clubs for it that people dance at. Plus it's a form of music. Hmm, sounds like EDM to me. :o

I'm following the Luke Chable fad myself...then again it's well deserved. I've been a Chable fan for about two years now.

Well no , I'm sure people will dance to any music. But rock in general isn't created using synthesized instruments and uses real drums in it.
