WTF are you talking about? He´s a DJ so his 'job' is to play in clubs and at big partys like TIC (It´s a good think that its big if he sticks to quality trance)..
Paul van dyk is doing big events for more than 5 years he´s running out of ideas, too??

You know, it's funny...
If you never change and always do the same thing people start criticizing you for being stale, but if you try to innovate (see Ferry's change in direction production wise) people moan how you've betrayed your fans and should go back to the old style. THEN they moan about trance always being the same.

ha, so true, especially on this site. i swear it seems like i see the same people on both sides of the argument, never happy with anything. |

thats because puff daddy said 'i am making a dance track now.' which he did and deep dish remixed it or whatever. and coolio has absolutely nothing better to do with his time. that wasnt even the point i was trying to make. that kid said that you'll never see 'so and so' with 'so and so' on the same bill. ultra has d&b, progressive, breaks, techno, and trance all on the same bill. plus, ian^ took that point a step further. |

Solo Tour at Dutch Dimension and the first Tiesto in Concert were basically the same thing except one was in an arena and one wasnt. nothing innovative about his mixing, the show in general, etc. ferry solo concert: he had a live band play classics that he produced. that is innovative. tiesto hasnt done anything to WOW me in the last two years. |

i never complained about tiesto nor did i complain about ferry's production style. the #1 dj in the world should do more than just do a couple of gigs and 1 huge concert every year. his mixing should be perfect. track selection should be different. trust me, i LOVE tiesto and he is the one person i can attribute to getting me into trance. i'm just saying, being the #1 in the world, he should be blowing us away every second. look at paul oakenfold. no one can disagree that he was the best a few years ago. no innovation and now most trance heads can't stand him. tiesto seems to be headed on this path. although two things tiesto has that oaky doesnt is charisma and looks. tiesto has the looks to bring trance mainstream appeal and be the britney spears of electronic music |

what i find funny is that i'll put a whole bunch of different topics in my posts, giving reasons to support why i think that way for each one. but everyone chooses the one thing i say that is easily argued and focus on that one thing that i say and try to disprove that. but what about the rest of my comments? i guess once someone gives evidence to falsify something that was said, it's considered a dead topic? |

you could say the band is innovative, not fairy. and not even because musically speaking there wasn't anything too impressive with what they did.
in TiC: mixing from the Brazilian batucada to Cave-Carnaval was innovative. the big Australian blowhorns or whatever they're called mixed into Obsession (Biazzi mix) was innovative. the Senegalese drum line mixed into Theme from Norjefell was innovative. the whole self-warmup hour with Tiesto spinning behind a curtain before Adagio ignited off the party was innovative.
the ridiculously lavish production and organization of the whole show was innovative, all of us who were there know it.
have you been to the Heineken Music Hall where DD 2002 was held? HAve you been to the Gelredome, which is more than double the size of HMH? Do you have any idea how unimaginable it was for one dj to go SOLO in one of those halls 4 years ago? Tiesto took the whole concept to another level in one very risky business. market-wise it was extremely innovative as hell, and by doing so he raised the bar without sacrificing artistry. can you beat that? |
