But rock in general isn't created using synthesized instruments and uses real drums in it. |
ALOT of rock bands are useing electronic instruments these days. Ever heard of Slipknot? They not only have a dj but also a sampler/synthesizer guy on stage. |

Like it or not, hip hop is the most popular, global and influential edm genre ever. Just ask Afrika Bombaataa. End of...
Also, a lot of dnb djs are much more technically talented than Zabiela. Look at someone like Andy C do 3 straight double-drops from straight vinyl and there's no question about it. What Zabiela does is impressive but nevertheless facilitated by his use of digital mixing techniques. |

Yes, but you still don't understand what I'm talking about. Rock, in general, does not rely on synthesized instruments to compose music whereas rap/hip hop does. Thus, making it a part of the EDM community. |

how can you say that? there are still TONS of hip hop producers that use samples to make their music. and if you look at the artist that do sample, they are widely considered to be the best hip hop producers. Pete Rock, DJ Premier, Large Professor, etc. you are getting a little too 'technical' here just to prove your point. for example, Nelly - Ride with Me did not sample anything. which means it was probably created using a beat machine. you would consider that an electronic dance song even though the whole thing is a guitar? no. hip hop is hip hop. you're one of probably 12 people in the world who consider hip hop a form of Electronica.
as for Zabiela, yes, there are probably many more talented and technical DJs in other genres. however, when you look at the DJ Mag top 100, i dont think any really made it into the top 30. zabiela, on the other hand, did.
as for the bandwagon, i didnt really jump on it. my friend told me about Zabiela so i downloaded a few sets. ive been hooked since then. thats not a bandwagon. a bangwagon would be if *everyone* else liked zabiela and more and more people started liking him because it was the cool thing to do. that probably won't happen for another year or two. |

There are popstars and there are popstars. I fail to see the bad side of becoming a popstar after years of hard work and dedication.
Now how about you stop jumping to the "let's bash every single artist we once loved because they're getting known by more than 10 people" bandwagon and form a valid opinion? |
