haha ... that is cool, sometimes the gayest answers are the best answers ...

I dont know if its true storie or a myth .. but I heard that some phylosophy teacher assigned an essay question to his student asking as the main topic " WHY ? " and somebody only wrote " WHY NOT " and got an A+ ....... how cool is that ...

Oh good lord, talk about urban legends... is there anyone who HASN'T heard that story?

lol... the classic opening line of urban legends. Nobody bothers to question why these "friends" are never identified...

don't use mine
I have never taken a poetry class in my life and I am certain that the 2 I have posted are absolute disasters in terms of poetry rules
I just do it for kicks, not as assignments

Yes......ME!:D ;)

This poem is part of one of my current book projects.

She came from a father unknown,
but trained hard to the bone,
And now matches with the best of men,
She shows no fear in any monster's den.
Destiny holds her a heavy weight,
Yet she knows nothing of this fate.
Her life, difficult and hard,
but even now her name is sung by bards.
The path she walked was legendary,
All reminisced by many a fairy.
Many daughters were named after her....
And her name was Jessica DelAvin,
for she defeated the world's greatest sin.

And this poem I wrote about my favorite song. I don't have a 'significant other' in my life so I wrote this about the song instead.

Breathing.
When I first heard you,
Couldn't believe what my heart came to,
Took my air and soul away,
Towards the ground I swayed,
To this day I still shake,
And tremble when I hear you play,
Life fills my eyes,
You are a welcome surprise,
Everytime I hear Breathing,
I am left utterly tearing.

Something I wrote when my bf and I were having hard times:

I see our life how wonderful it can be
And a tear falls from my eye for what in front of me I see

I see that we are not as strong, that we are slowly becoming weak
In my heart, I try to triumph. I look and I will seek

I will promise you, written in these words, I will try
I am hurt by my actions and these words are not a lie

We will become stronger, together we will grow
You are my soul mate and I will never let you go

I am sorry for these past days, please know of my love for you
I am wanting so hard to be happy again, I will do what I need to do!

You are my everything, you are my love of my life
I want to continue on with you and one day be your wife

Please forgive me

Poem #2
Though at times it seems our life will never succeed
You need to look next to you to see that’s all that you need

A person to hold your hand, to guide your way
A person to love and care for you, day after day

This is the best support that one can give
This is all that one needs in order to live

Love will prove strong and love will conquer all
Never again will your hopes or dreams fall

So turn to that person who stands beside you
And thank them for all that it is they do

Love them back and you will see
That life will be the best that it could ever be

Troubles will fade away and your life’s path will open wide
All because of a special person standing by your side

Poem #3
When I wake up in the morning I hold you close to me
My life, my reason, my being is everything I see

I graze your face with my hand, I kiss your lips- a gentle touch
I realize and can answer why my life now means so much

I kiss your forehead as I run my fingers through your hair
I whisper softly to you the words…. “I love you and I care”

I touch my head to yours as I wait for morning’s light
I hold you close to me as I grasp your body tight

Your eyes open from sleep, you look my way and your eyes meet mine
Your lips openly softly as I smile…you speak, “Good morning sunshine!”

Silence:

Snap out of it! You understand me. You know exactly what I'm saying!
I don't even have to say it for you to know what it is.
I'm not going to state it. I'm not going to "tell" you.
See beyond words, see beyond text!
This is not a poem!
Look for the circle!

The circle, the perspective of everythingness as a whole.
This is where you look beyond the beyond.
This is where, while looking past what is in front of you,
You see the essential aspects of what truly is.

This has meaning! This is not just some piece of sentence!
There is meaning, and understanding behind everything
Without needing to actually hear anything at all.
Without the necessity to physically open a mouth.

To speak too much brings trivial, petty details in thought.
Forget speech, forget words, text, and handy expressions.
Be silent, do not speak. Be still, do not open your mouth.
Feel what is being felt, absorb it into your being.

To be felt, to be understood in every way.
To be felt, and not to be heard because hearing is irrelevant.
To be silent is to truly know what is being said,
But then again, to be silent is to have already spoken too much!
