Believe me. I know how it is up there. But if there's ome thing I've learned is that if you're looking for something, you will find it. Ideally, you'll wan't 2-3 girls that are bi. This means you might have to go outside of your normal comfort zone and go to places you may not have considered going to. I refuse to belive one of th most densely populated cities on the planet does not have an inventory of good party girls to hang out with. Think about it.

Some dudes at these events can be mad weird. I don't blame girls for not wanting to come to an EDM event when you got bozos like that walking around.

If possible, bring friends.

You're right. There's plenty of party girls in the MD area. Being a University of MD student with 30,000 students on campus there's got to be at least a handful of girls that'd want to go to a Trance event, right? Wrong. We got an EDM club on campus that has events regularly ----> complete SAUSAGE CARNIVALS

I think the only girl on campus who is into Trance is TranceEyes22!

What happened to me at PVD @ Roxy:
Weird guy comes up to me: "Hey, what price? You buy? You come?"
Me: "Huh? What? What are you selling?"
Guy: "No, you come with me. You come and I give you money!" He whips out hundred dollar bills.
Me: "I AIN'T NO PROSTITUTE!"
Guy: Blank stare. "You come?"

Slick: Megadeth lyrics. Good old gods of metal... :thepirate

Miss Bliss,

May I suggest something? Please take these poor bastards out and show them a good time. The Atlanta TAs are always having get-togethers. This is what you guys need. Sort of like a support group.

Hi. My name is MaEsTro.
"Hi MaEsTro"
I'm a Trance addict. Now play some f*king tunes. Get the idea?

You're right. I see this more in NY then in Miami. Some are predators, some are just young cocky little f*ckers that don't know how to act. BTW, what is with those "Chest Shaving Sissy Boys" that like to take their shirts off and dance together? Gay men aren't normally so agressive.

i'm annoyed most by the ones that just shove and push their way thru a crowd... i thought there's a way of doing it without violenty displacing people...

It's very difficult to do a weekly trance event in NYC (maybe Avalon is the closest thing)because of all the options and competition. It gives more reason for ppl to wanna go to different places, and not the same place every week.
And in terms of pulling in ppl, it that seems that often a big house DJ will win out over a trance DJ that is just as good but just not as well known, even for many TA's (but I could be wrong)

There's plenty of trance events in the upcoming weeks, some even competing with each other. Check the Party Planner thread.

Be glad for all the talent that comes into NYC
The clubs aren't perfect, but having them and the DJ's there at all is very good for a start.
Just come and enjoy the music. If you don't like the crowd, bring your own. Or just drink more or keep your eyes closed or something. :p

Support them so that they continue to come in and come back, and so that there's even a chance to improve on the issues you've mentioned.
Also support the smaller events (like TFST, Prognosis, Future Progression, to name a few), most of which are put on by TA's here. Then maybe they might have a chance to build up into something bigger.
Or do your own event, so that there can be something with everything you want.

I like where you're going with this. Because that has been the problem with NY for the last 40 years. A small group of people decide what is cool for everyone else. I'd like nothing more than to see warehouses used for parties weekly. Create a new scene. A better one.

I'm thinking ..... "Cattle Prod" or "Stun Gun". Wait, violence is not the answer.

The problem here is, that these are exactly the type of people that need to be discrimenated against. If a venue is full of these idiots, it ruins the vibe for everyone else. I say find another place or throw your own parties.

Blah... no. Couldn't get ANYBODY together/I'm a college student & money's tight. :( One bad thing about being a girl who actually KNOWS HER STUFF about all kinds of EDM is I feel like not many guys who know THEIR stuff take me seriously! I don't have many friends who go out with me to big events... sometimes I end up going alone. Like I said, it's for the music... so still a good time! :happy2:
And yea, some of those guys are gross. You don't see ME trying to get up in anybody's sh*t...
lelandmulder
All he's sayin' is that he wants to go see PVD with some frickin' females there as well... it's still a party and a sausage festival isn't any straight guys idea of a party. I went with a girl so I was cool however it sucked being surrounded by guys all night on the floor. Are you mostly gay here? Come on, support the guy, it's true.

I heart trance
I'm a girl, and I definitely agree, although I never thought about it. I went to PVD @ roxy with 5 guys, and danced with one I met there most of the night, but everytime he'd leave to get water or something there would be like 8 guys grabbing at me...not pleasant.

Now that I think about it, there were mostly guys there, at least on the dance floor. I absolutely love trance, but basically most of the people I find who also love trance are guys; all my girlfriends like hip hop, which I can't stand.
