Every act of this kind will be related to the movie, whether it has any relation or not. Are we going to start blaming every act in the near future on this movie? Sure, it may spark isolated incidences such as this, but those people were just looking for a reason to do it anyway.

People need to chill out and not let movies get them so worked up. If you know it's going to make you upset, don't get see it. No one is making you sit in the theater.

the fact that hitler was a german?

hitler wasnt german though. But thats besides the point...I do agree with that you're saying. People are making a huge deal out of nothing. Some movies are controversial..some arent. The fact that this movie deals with Jews is why so many ppl are moaning about it. However, I didnt like the fact that Mel decided to make a movie about Jesus being tortured..but whatever, thats up to the producer/director's discretion.

All this controversy is the ONLY reason the movie is doing so well, I didnt think it was that great

If jesus didn't want to get killed he should have kept his big fat mouth shut.

as an Athiest, i came out of the movie feeling sorrow for a man that had to endure so much if that did happen.

I certainly didnt feel hatred towards Jews. But im not christian so i have a different reaction to it.

In the end, Its how people perceive the film. Has there been an overwhelming anit-semetic reaction after this film that the majority of the Jewish leaders today have predicted??

This film depicts what a is beleived by many christians. It is their belief...if it were changed becuase people of another beleif were offended... than that is manipulating their beleifs.

Countless times we have seen Blacks, Arabs, and other ethnicities ,since the dawn of mass media, illustrated disrespectfully without much recognition of their contempt...but when the image of Jews is threatened, its headline news.

Its sad that we dont hear the angry cries of the Egyptian community when they are portrayed as evil oppressors to the Jews when the Story of Moses is told.

The moral of your post: anyone who speaks out against the Jewish backroom elite will be killed.

The moral of my post: To expose the silliness inherent in the moral of your post.

But I'm intriqued by this Jewish backroom elite ... who was a part of it? David? Soloman? MOSES??? That damned dirty bastard, he had his tentacles everywhere. So this Jewish conspiracy ... did it only stretch throughout mesopotamia or was it a world-wide conglomerate yet? Ya know I read the protocols of the elders of zion and you'd be surprised at how early it all started ... spooky.

Flame retardant: turn it down a notch, please. My point of the thread was to express how it made me feel. If your religious/ethnic group were suffering as a consequence of some stupid movie, though you or they did not directly partake in the activities or actions, what would be your reaction?

Anyway, thanks for letting me vent - I'm done. This conversation is headed for crash and burn, sorry I started it. Sadly, some people are just too blind to see a bigger picture, no pun intended. It's not about jews, it's about premise, purpose and intent. It's a very personal subject to many people - let each one make up their own mind. I still believe that sensibility will prevail. This movie, like it or not, achieved its purpose - to draw a line in the sand, to divide - and it did so splendidly. If it didn't, many of the emotions expressed on these forums would have not surfaced - so, at least we're being open with each other. That's the light at the end of the tunnel.

Hope remains.

And you say you are a catholic? damn you're full of , but thats besides the point

Well, he didnt want to be killed but he respected God's decision so...You ought to respect the martyrs who have died because of voicing their opinion, thoughts and ideals. Far more honorable to die for your beliefs than die denying them.

lol:haha:

Well i think the movie was great. I loved it personally, its very emotional, very real, love the music, acting, details. Mel Gibson sure spent his time researching for this movie, he did it right. To be honest, i was waiting for a movie about Jesus life that would show what he went through, and this one far exceded my expectations. If it dosen't win picture of the year, its the fame its gotten for being "anti semitic" that will keep it from it.

Has sarcasm gone out of fashion? Why don't you read the post I was responding to, and then read my post. They were equally retarded. I can elaborate if you wish, pointing out the elements of sarcasm and mockery, but doing so is always soooo .... non-funny.
