I certainly didnt feel hatred towards Jews. But im not christian so i have a different reaction to it.
In the end, Its how people perceive the film. Has there been an overwhelming anit-semetic reaction after this film that the majority of the Jewish leaders today have predicted??
This film depicts what a is beleived by many christians. It is their belief...if it were changed becuase people of another beleif were offended... than that is manipulating their beleifs.
Countless times we have seen Blacks, Arabs, and other ethnicities ,since the dawn of mass media, illustrated disrespectfully without much recognition of their contempt...but when the image of Jews is threatened, its headline news.
Its sad that we dont hear the angry cries of the Egyptian community when they are portrayed as evil oppressors to the Jews when the Story of Moses is told. |
ROOOFL CynepMeH is owned again. Seriously guy, calm down, you're getting upset over nothing.
BTW, when Mel made Braveheart and the Patriot, did you go on the same crusade against him because the British in those two movies are pretty much all dicks?
No? Why not? Is it becuase you only care about your own? Taking a stand for equality and elimination of racism is honourable.
Taking a stand for elimination of racism only aimed at your OWN ethnic group is...not |

Cal, you will not understand until you walk in other's shoes. You're lucky, hope that you never will have to.
P.S.Did you know that Catholics threw Christians to the lions and killed them and tortured them and so on? I don't see too many movies about that. |

Did you ever see a sign on the store door that said "No Jews and N*ggers allowed"? or "Kill kikes, save mother Russia"? IF not, visit a Holocaust museum in D.C. or Kiev. But that's probably coz' ppl are afraid that Jews will rule the world. Well... newsflash - we already do. On top of everything, on Shabbat we usually sacrifice a Christian/Catholic baby and drink its blood. Then, we take a nice swim in our pools of money and talk how we can divide the world better among us.
You can partake in all these fun activities if you get a membership. So, convert today! (well, in your case - start believing). ;D |

How quaint and ironic that this thread itself has sparked at least few nauseating anti-semitic comments.
Here's a question for all you diehard Christians:
WHERE IS YOUR PROOF THAT JESUS EVER EVEN EXISTED, LET ALONE WAS KILLED BY THE JEWS?
The only historical (but contradictory) evidence I've seen suggests that he was executed by the Romans, not the Jews.
That is all.
ing idiots believe everything your bible tells you... learn to question the things you read. |

Yes, it has, and the jesus freaks LOST.
So can the comments about how "don't blame Mel, everything in the movie was true." It wasn't. It was based on the paranoid delusions of some 17th century Christian fundamentalist nun, NOT historical fact. And the visions of this Nun WERE horribly anti-semitic, if you bother to actually do your research and find out about them.
Whether or not the movie is anti-semitic is not the point - the point is that it fuels the fire for those that are already anti-semitic by reinforcing ancient and debunked stereotypes about the Jews.
Jesus probably did not exist. If he did exist, he wasn't a miracle man. If he was executed, it was because of the Romans, not the Jews. GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT PEOPLE. This thread is really making me angry because it represents everything I HATE SO MUCH about religion!
Of course I blame the vandals, 10 times more than I blame Mel, but that doesn't mean that EITHER of them are saints here. I blame BOTH! For those who still don't understand, GO HERE, even the Christian scholarly community didn't like this movie! |

| Try hating stupidity instead. I watched American History X which had wayyyy more backing the white supremacists, with the black kid killing Danny in the end. Guess how it changed my mind. It didnt. It was a ing movie. The end. |

What the Hell are you talking about now? The Catholics burned heretics and hung witches and killed Muslims. The Romans threw slaves to the lions, and other miscellaneous wild animals. Christians were among the slaves, since Christianity was outlawed. |
