Im not looking for the rich older man. I want to be able to so things by myself, co exists not live of another.
However a certain ammount of financial stability does cancel out certain modern day anxieties, and i can see how this is appealing. Whether this cancels out 'real love' comes down to the individual, there is no reason why i can't fall in love with an older financially viable man, but there is also no reason why i can't take advantage of his geriatric condition and millions. Who's to tell, its my word angainst anyone elses. |

my bf is older, but only 6 or 7 years. and definitely not rich... i have to pay all the rent more often than not... but he treats me right. i can provide my own financial stability. he helps me with emotional stability and security. i value that the most at this moment i think. |

Not so long ago i was talking with my friends gf , and we were on the topic of love/relation etc,
And apparently all the girls by her theory always dream/go for a guy whose older than her and is very financialy stable,,, so i ask her about loving a guy who maybe isnt older and isnt financialy stable,, she says right away that its a no no and thats its every girls dream about older and rich guys.
Then i tell her that if thats how girls work then true meaning of love is down the drain and that girls are money hungry selfish bitches, she got pissd off at me and walked off, so i thought id ask you girls on here, is it true that you always tend to go or always dream of going for a guy who is older and is rich ??? |
girls look for security both emotionnaly and resource-wise...
so it makes sense when she says older (emotional) and resource-wise (money)... but its not always true with the resource thing nowadays because girls aren't deprived like they used to be. |

Every guy I have dated has been younger than me. One had financial stability, but was a complete moron with zero maturity. He was an annoying little show off/mommy's boy. Another was working on getting financial security. It's more about work ethic, personality, and maturity for me. =\ I would rather have a hard working poor guy who was mature and had a killer personality than some little rich boy who was immature and boring. |

What is the "true meaning of love?"
I think you're confusing matters a bit. Women are more prone to feel geniune love, affection, attraction, et cetera towards men who are financially stable (which may or may not mean older). They aren't pretending to love the men as a means to another end.
So how does this undermine the "true meaning of love" any more than a man feeling love for a woman due to other arbitrary characteristics of that woman, such as her physical appearance? |
its extremely shallow and does undermind what true love is, unconditional affection towards someone. at least thats part of my definition of love |
