| Oakie used to be the man IMO...but now he's totally changed. He's still an incredible DJ...but it just seems like he's more interested in money now :( |

He thinks about money? are u ing crazy? so u saying pvd who charges 40 grand for 2 ours. and tiesto 40 grand for 2 hours. while oakie charges 23 for 2? give me a break!! PvD is my fav. dj. also i think oakenfold leads the way for trance music. When ever he comes out with a cd its always the new trend of trance music. so i think people should respect him as a good dj. another thing please read this ***OAKENFOLD ISNT THE CAUSE OF UR TICKETS, HE DOESNT CHARGE THAT MUCH FOR EXAMPLE PEOPLE ARE SAYING 40-80 BUX A TICKETS. ITS THE PROMOTERS THAT WANT TO CASH IN*** SO I HOPE THAT COULD HELP U GUYS UNDERSTAND! |

PVD & Tiesto don't get 40 grand for two hours. Travelling & Perfecto presents had similiar tracklistings. Playing tracks everyone else is playin isn't innovative.
Promoters don't set the ticket prices they just PROMOTE THE EVENT! The bottom line is in order to pay Oakenfold what he demands tix are more expensive. I may check out Oakie when I'm in Ibiza to further my point. |

| no Another World was for the united states and travelling was intended for Europe!!! Plus they came out the same day. WOW like 2 songs are the same from each cd! it doesnt make a differance. Each cd is good! |

are you kidding me? oakie costs way more to book than pvd or tiesto
if you need proof then lets see... why did it cost me $17 to see pvd, $15 for tiesto and $27 for oakie? and you need to realize that pvd and tiesto both spun for 3 hours while oakie only spun for 2... do the math |

| look at buzz when oakey was here on aug 17th. he charged 23 grand for 2 hours. And the promoters sold the tickets at 30 bux a pop. If theres like 4000 people coming to the show, do the math and see HOW MUCH MONEY THE PROMOTERS ARE MAKING!!!!! and if u dont have tickets they charge like 50 grand or so! and PVD charges 40, so does tiesto. Judge jules charges 35 grand. now what are u talking about!!!! the reason UR prices are HIGHER cause more people know about PAUL OAKENFOLD then any other dj!!!! |

Let's see here. Oakenfold isn't a money monger now...
Hmm...check the making of the movie: planet of the apes on HBO. They introduce this "world-famous remixer" for the new track on the soundtrack. Guess who...Paul Oakenfold. Under his name it reads Remixer.
Oakenfold is becoming a remixer? Oakenfold dumps out 4 or 5 CD's in absolutely no time after only releasing 2 or 3 (my numbers might be off) in 4 years. That makes absolutely no sense to me. Then he writes the entire soundtrack for Swordfish, and you say he isn't after the money? You have no brain cells then.
PvD is into it in some extent for the money...but not for what Oakie's in it for.
The comments about the ticket prices are right now. Oakenfold cost 45.00 when he came here to Houston. PvD's gunna cost about 20. Tiesto has never come.
Timo Maas/Anthony Pappa/Satoshi Tomiie/Q-Burns Abstract/Mistress Barbara/LTJ Bukem...all cost 15.00.

who gives a toss what they make ,, they have brought trance too all parts of the world ... i think they should get paid heaps.. they travel around the world non stop.. playing so many clubs and events,, and also producing tracks / sound tracks ,, they leave their family most of the year ... its their life ... you should be happy they tour so often..
just be thankful of what they are doing for the scene .. they bring you sounds that make u wanna dance allnight,, sure sometimes the sets are not the best... but more good than bad..
i saw PVD last year,, the tickets $70 AUD which is 25 uk and $35 US ,, its cheaper than some places i guess but hey i didnt care.. i just wanted to see pvd and he played an amazing set |

lol ABT, it's kinda hard for one to listen to the music when their personal views of the DJ gets in the way.
Kinda sucks that people like to bash DJs who ARE trying to bring Dance scene into this continent in full force. To say Oakey sucks as a DJ is blatantly an ignorant statement. His track selection and mixing abilities far outweighs his mess ups. His contribution to the scene has been more than any other DJ worldwide, that in itself is a FACT. Has PvD, Coxy or even Tenaglia done anything over here in the States to promote the music and to bring their name to be synonymous with the music we love and listen to? Don't even state Tiesto being better than Oakey. Tiesto has said in various interviews how he aspires to be like Oakey (in respects to pleasing, reading and to get the crowds going as Oakey). Personally, I love listening to Oakey. Pushing out promos (Perfecto records) here and there 6 months prior to any other DJ is ALWAYS a good thing! His varied styles of play is another added bonus at his versatility as a DJ. Him as a business man shouldn't attribute to him playing phat choonz. It's MUSIC, listen to it and stop bringing politics into it. If he charges X amount, he can and he will.

Danny Tenaglia is from NYC. All Oakie did was play the SAME hour set of old tunes in every city in America! How is that groundbreaking or innovative? When ever I ask ppl how was Oakie...they say he trainwrecked & he was playin old tunes. I really wanna pay $40 to hear that. :rolleyes: |
