Like the pvd every one "used" to love. now when he changes his style and structure...reflections,just be, right of way, name your album today, people dont like it. People wish that the producers kept their old specific style. The topic shouldn't be that helstrip is unimaginative, because he uses his own personal sounds. But why all the other trance producers out there sound the same.

You're missing the point. He's arguing lack of creativity, not style change. And style and structure are two vastly different things, for instance, Hardfloor used the same acid formula for ages and ages, yet what they came out with sounded like big beat, house and trance back and forth because they were trying as hard as they could to diversify and reinvent themselves, yet they refused to give up on the all too succesful formula they came up with on Acperience.

well what would you recommend helstrip to do?

mabe he will throw in some techy sounds, and unimaginative melodies, and can be like l-vee, and mike....show me the money

Or, he could try something COMPLETELY different. But nope, not enough cash to rake in on that. Or maybe he just doesn't know how to.

ferry did something COMPLETELY different and i hate it. Different isn't always good.

There were also another 3 people who loved it. I think you see my point.

i totally understand your point, i never said i did not. I think more people liked ferrys old style over his new 1. Lets see. If i had to chose between steve changing styles, or continue produceing where he is now. You know my answer.

Do I have to hammer it into your skull one more time that this isn't bout changing styles, but just being creative? Diversifying your productions is one way of doing that.

he could try some different basslines for one, other kinds than standard offbeat, and maybe some interesting beats :wtf:

Ok my personal opinion on mr. helstrip is this:

The guy has produced so many quality remixes and releases over the years and yes i agree in some sense that his style dosn't vary too much but why change something that is so damn good, the synth introduced in Sublime and now his remix of the morning after is so lush its untrue. IMO he's put so much into what trance is about that he'll always be up in 'my' producer top spot.

Ah ok just realised this is focusing on structure...

You might as well be talking to a brick wall mate, they don't seem to be listening or they don't understand, one fo the two.

Yeah, I think that would be interesting.

I'd love to hear some more chilled down tracks from steve. However, I still like/love everything he is doing.
