Sorry , but i have totally agree with that above and beyond are 100% lame and any new of their productions are terrible cheesy trancers for the mass and for "cash". e.g oceanlab(another terrible band which unfortunately is labelled as trance.) For gods sake go to the anjunabeats website and read A&Bs biography "even madonna wanted the A&B treatment"(meaning about a remix) BLIAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH(i vomit).

The Gift - Love Angel (Main Mix/MIKE Mix)
The Gift - The 7th Day (Main Mix/MIKE Mix)
X-Scape - T.E.B.S
Calling The Freak - Your Time Is Up
Eclectic Kid vs Fred Baker - Now Or Never
MIKE vs J00f - Ice Cream
Musix - Cyber Desire/Turn The Page
Sinead O' Connor - Troy (Push Remix)
Solar Factor - No Return/Deep Sonar

Off the top of my head. And the upcoming stuff on Scanner (which will be largely ignored as always) is usually a lot better than his uplifting trance stuff nowadays anyway. He has done his usual recycling a lot granted, but there is always something good coming out from MIKE now and then.
sandstorm03
thats you opinion...

X-Scape - T.E.B.S was good

the others arnt as special to me as his older stuff.

do you feel he can produce better?

That's not what you asked for, you asked for what he had produced during the last two years which were good. (tracks that didn't recycle his usual sounds and sound samey etc.) So that's what I put down.

As for whether he can do better, he prolly can. But as long as he keeps making the experimental stuff as he usually does I don't really care for his uplifting trance stuff anyway, even though he usually knocks out a handful of good ones in that department too.
sandstorm03
i know...in my book they are just average tracks, mabe you rate them higher. But does he not have a lot of other crap out there?

Doesn't every producer?

Sandstorm.. Could you please just shut the up?! I'm so tired of your bitching and whining. You clearly are bothered and are unable to accept the diverse array of opinions that users on this board share.. which has really begun to irritate me and the majority of members. What is your purpose on this board: to annoy users and spam it to its demise? It's an opinion.. accept it and get over it!

Madonna - What It Feels Like For A Girl (Above & Beyond Mix) :eyespop:

This is pure genius and turns the track into an uplifting monster of a track as opposed to the dull e it was before

Nell
above and beyond tools of the year? what the are you on?!

seriously with a discography as strong and diverse as theirs, you really need to withdraw that statement. Everyone raved about the first remix of madonna, and the amount of people that went on about the remix of ayu for over a year etc etc, makes this alot funnier. Add to the fact they struggled to get sattelite released commercialyl, turned away by numerous labels for not being commercial enough!!!

for christ sakes.. look at this discog:

Steve is one of my favourite producers of all time but I feel he needs to expand his production style. His Emotions in Motion remix was very boring and sounded way to much like Strange World and Shamu. I know the original poster has stating that he was bored with Steve's typical track structure but aren't all tracks now a days produced the same? Intro, verse, chorus, long break, chorus, verse, outro, end.

I have a lot of respect for guys like L-Vee, M.I.K.E, Ferry and Tiesto who have all changed there style at one point in their careers. Steve IMO could atleast venture out and try to produce some different tracks.

We can all sit here and say he needs to do this and that but he's the master of his domain.

As for Envio, he really needs to try and not be some 1 dimensional. Time to Say Goodbye, Touched by The Sun, Sunset Highway and Rendevous all have great melodies but there a little too fluffy for me overall.
