Emotion in Motion (Thrillseekers Remix) was a huge letdown for me. Just another "pleasant" melody," nothing special about the song.

Steven needs to step the quality of his work back up to the level reached by Rapid Eye - Circa Forever, Hydra - Affinity, and Insigma -Open Your Eyes.

No way, Bass Shuttle is much better. It takes a completely different approach and still manages to come off as trancy.

Anyways, yeah I also believe he's gotten unimaginative, although you have to consider that his style has worked extremely well thus far. Why abandon the thing that brought you to the top?

yeh until his recent remix i thought hed made the same old for a while with very similar melodies (some en motion tune and sublime i think? cant remember)

then above and beyond started using very similar sound and tehn also envio and you have a whole host of trance producers using exactly the same sounds and stuff which gets very very boring.

Guess not many people have heard The Thrillseekers - Escape (Original Chillout Mix) :)

Or don't forget his earlier remixes, which were quite different from the style that we now associate to Steve. A remix that comes to mind, that is quite different from his norm, is the New Horizon remix of Alibi - Eternity. It's a more banging approach to the track and the break comes in about the 6 min mark.

So he uses nothing but guitar on the entire track?

puahahaha... yes!!!!

but in all seriousness, i'd personally put envio above helstrip in recent productions. envios stuff is just more interesting than helstrips recent stuff.

We're talking about the general direction of his tracks, not a few exceptions.
