Read the posts again. You said "Doesn't he have a lot of crap out too?" I responded "doesn't every producer?" You then said "yea and I say the same thing about them", to which I responded "funny I never saw you saying that about Nu NRG or Helstrip then". That example you posted just now does not debunk my claim, as nowhere in it do you say that Nu NRGs recent stuff is crap, you just say that it isn't as good as their older stuff.
sandstorm03
your rite, i cant think of any nu nrg productions that are crap(imo). Some of their remixes have been weak, but their remixes have been better then the original tracks. And i still enjoy them more then some of the other stuff out there.

Would you just give it up already? It's all opinionated. Nu-Nrg is garbage imo, but I'm not going to argue about it with you over 10 pages because people will always have their opinions.

Steve Helstrip always has, and continues to put out quality. Some of it is cookie-cutter type stuff, but if you know how to do it right, why stop? Same goes for L-Vee. To proclaim L-Vee is tool of the year is just assinine.

he has much more talent than what he has produced recently, so how is it assinine.

wow, at least one person has said negative things about helstrip, m.i.k.e. and envio in this thread, all three of which have their own signature style and have done a lot more great work then mediocre/poor work.

personally i dont think they should be scolded for having their own signature style (i mean its great if they diversify, and they do/will over time at least a bit), makes a lot more sense to me to rely on a wide array of producers to take electronica in lots of different directions then to expect too much change variation from producers on an individual basis.

whatever, im not going to say that approaching tracks/remixes with a little different angle then usual wouldn't be cool, but come on complaining like that is total bull

you're honestly going to tell me that helstrip hasn't already done enough with tracks like affinity or any rapid eye or insigma track

same for envio, so his sound is a little fluffier and more summery in my opinion, it doesn't make it bad, its still trancey, it still has its merits and situations/times in a set when a track like touched by the sun would hit you really hard

and then as for m.i.k.e. and lvee bashing, thats just insanity right there, you've clearly lost it, nothing more to say really

i think more and more, people dont realize how after years of listening to trance, its just harder for ANYTHING to hit you as strongly as it once did

don't judge productions on how you feel about them NOW after you've heard them 100/200/300 times. judge them on how you felt the first few times you heard them and they hit you so hard you overplayed them for a week/month straight till you got sick of them

i dont know about you but tracks like helstrip's affinity, circa-forever, stealing beauty, santa cruz; envio's touched by the sun, rendezvous; and too many m.i.k.e tracks in his killer synths style totally owned me the first few times around and even now with some effort!

stop the bitching/hate please, unless its warranted of course, which i dont think in this case it is

well alright since we do need a scapegoat, lets agree on above and beyond :D

and to answer the original poster's question; is helstrip a little unimaginative? maybe/yes but so what, what matters most is the end product whatever similar angle he wishes to use

my god, the things that will happen when people get accustomed/habituated (as sadly was inevitable) with the music they passionately fell in love with years ago

I Just hope Heltrep doesnt change his style because of this thread because he is my favorite producer and every track he releases is 100% pure quality trance unlike many others nowadays who have changed their style unfortunatley.
Steve is very consistant with his track productions and i think its great, that is what makes him unique and different from others.

HE IS ABOVE everyone nowadays, i hope he continues to produce quality trance like before !

Helsrep Ownzzzz all !

will someone tell me what is wrong with bashing artists for their lazyness.

simply look @ mikes stuff from a few years ago, to today, for me there is a big difference. Nothing much of mikes stuff gets me going today like his older stuff. Same with Airwave. Even on the 1st listen. That active sight alias of mike is bleh. And just because Envio has 2 average/slightly above average tracks doesnt make him better then any other trance producer.

okay first off i think in search for freedom owns hard.
how does electric eclipse or journey of life not measure up to his old stuff?

you're way too picky, my opinion. no hard feelings.
sandstorm03
im picky with my styles i guess to a certan point. But there is a lot of better/different stuff to lisen to then some of mikes stuff/l-vees stuff of today...

I didnt like in search for freedom. It sounds prety boring to me but thats my opinion. When they come up with a good hit, ill definately support them, but not at the moment.
