ok TuanAnh213, first off, those "couple of african-american friends" you have that watch anime and listen to jpop fall under that 10% category i didn't bash. and yes, i do have black friends. when i was living in japan for those two years, i had 2 girlfriends that were my "best friends"...one was african-american and the other was half venezuelan and half trinidadian. they were awesome chicks and educated and funny, and their families were (and still are) friends with mine.
another thing, it depends a lot on where you are from too. i live in south florida. it's all jamaican and haitian and the attitude of most of them sucks. my boyfriend is a chiropractor and is big in the PI business (personal injury) and all of his patients are haitians claiming injuries they don't have trying to get a buck. not to mention, i had to go to this ghetto (mostly black and spanish) high school for my senior year because i lived in an area that borders a not so nice area and the school zone came into mine. all the ghetto ass black chicks w/ fake hair and nails would always start and try to intimidate the white girls. i stepped up to one of them and she was surprised and didn't really bother me that much. they just like throw their weight around and look for trouble. no, not ALL of them, but most of them did...i have no tolerance for simple minded idiots getting their kicks off looking for trouble like a bunch of god damn animals.
black culture is so taboo to talk about...it just has to do with your opinion of a certain ATTITUDE...not necessarily the color of their skin...it just so happens most black people (that i have had personal experiences with) have that attitude and i can't stand it. |

it IS their fault because they engage in it and ebrace it...and if they don't, well then that's what all the african-american programs to help innercity kids get education are for....forget all the poor little white kids on the other side of the tracks going through the same ... |

i see...well when i went to some middle-of-the-nowhere state Idaho, I saw a ton of white trailer trash, and there were a couple racist incidents; a large, white family stared and mocked at us (being chinese) for the entire time we were browsing in some store and these two white guys randomly came into our tour bus, took the bus mic and made some stupid ignorant comments against us...now am i gonna generalize that ALL white people racist rednecks? no
im just saying its wrong to generalize black people like you did being bad attitude, ghetto thugsters just because you encountered a couple morons or that the school that you went to happened be ghetto...why is it that here at UC Santa Cruz (my college) all the black people that i've seen or talked to don't fall under you generalizations? |

engage and embrace it? ehh...as in they enjoy robbing liquor stores and enjoy being labeled as thugs? had these same people been born in some white suburban neighborhood up in Greewich, Massachusetts, would they be committing the same crimes or doing whatever generalizations others label them as?

Its amazing how many ty cars are sporting the "Gore" stickers still and the nice cars either have NO bumper stickers because they are classy enough to not have them or the republican "conservative" candidates. Anyways, liberals are always in the street screaming about some injustice while all the "conservatives" are running the country and then going to their nice homes they actually worked for.
Which brings me to the next point. We are talking percentages here. You say you went to Idaho and took a representative sample of the population...mmmhmm ok. Well...lets do some other "representative" samples and take a look at prison populations. 50% are black. that means that 16% percent of the nation makes up 50% of the prisons...but wait! 50% of that 16% is male! So about 9% of our population makes up 50%. Say what you want about the criminal justice system, but thats ed no matter how much prejudice you read into it.
Hey, also what has black culture brought to America? Industry? Morality? What? What has it done to make this country better? I want to hear your argument towards all the great things that blacks have done for this country. Whites brought capitalism, industry, and a work ethic. So did the chinese too, ill not leave them out.

They ARE NOT special. They have gone through so much less hardship than the other races comparatively as towards invasions and what not, im not talking civil wars. They are good at infighting, I will admit, but no other countries really decided "thats it we are taking over Africa and killing them all" that happened to China, Japan, Mongolia, All of the Middle East, Britain, Spain, France, Greece, name it. Africa never really got invaded. So if you want to talk about people who have come up from the dirt, its EVERYONE but Blacks in America. And like BET doesnt help. Someone lobbied for that.
If its such a bad image and non-archetypal of their society, than by God they should lobby to get it off. But every time i go into the TV lounge at my college, and all the blacks are there, its on....*drumroll......* BET!!!! and they get pissed and violent if you try to change it!!!!
We arent talking straight numbers, there are less of them. We are talking percentages here. and as much as everyone hates the "model minority" idea, everyone who "came here voluntarily" unlike the blacks is kicking ass and making a name.

Anyways. Point is, legit arguments exist about this stuff, and to try to brush someone off as a "conservative" for ONE belief is pretty ludicrous.
and like I said, I have black friends too! Which i hasten to add I hate to have to add to legitamize a point. But these days you are RACIST if you dont have at least 1 black friend. which is kind of racist because its like that black people love us website...anyways
I dunno where im going with all of this, but I think we have legitimized the idea of "black" culture being over rated. Now, back TO THE ING THREAD. Jesus. If someone had said "Koreans" no one would have said , but oh no, its the blacks! defend them!
