MEDIA.
You can sum up most of everything that's overrated into a big pile of crap, namely media. Media is the one that's telling you what's hot what's not, what to wear, what to listen to, what's important. Pollutes our brains. Can't live a day without being influenced by the media in some form. It has so much power over mindless idiots who watch/do/mimic/buy anything that the media chooses to make popular. Hiphop? Overrated. Reality-TV? Overrated.
