p.s your vote means nothing, what will one vote do?
I am under 30, and I love politics. I'm half assed educated on the process (having my poli sci degree), and I can tell you now, your vote means dick, and that's why I'm not voting.
:eek:
let the riots ensue |
Now lets say a couple thousand people with the same mentality all got out there and voted. Could change things!
IMO, in my political experiences, i have noticed the majority of voters that vote would probably not share the same interest as i do. I cant afford to say, im not going to vote because it doesnt matter and my vote doesnt count.
Besides, its your civic duty to vote. |

uhhhh one question.. how democractic is mandatory voting? The whole point of a democracy is choice. Some people can choose to NOT vote (even though I dont' agree with that). Our parliamentary system is already very undemocractic why make it more so? |
Easy. As i said you would have the right to go in person to decline your vote. This would make it a very active decision to do so. You would still be fulfilling your civic duty by actually making the choice not to vote instead of sitting around that day and doing nothing. |

Federal and Provincial are completely different animals. The Conservatives and NDP are the primary options for everyone this year, it should be interesting to see how they split the vote, and what effect it has on the Fibs. |
