here's a few things I don't like

his stance on abortion ----- i really dont think hes going to repeal the abortion law and if he does hell be a one term wonder

his stance on good christian law abiding Canada -- Chretien was a devout catholic... did that ever affect his ability to govern? No, but greed sure did!

his stance on marijuana- what have the fiberals done in this dept other than allow sick people to smoke it?

his stance on trying to disavow the $150,000 election support cap-- THANK GOD FOR THIS.... This is a huge slap in the face for the very foundation of free speech. I am in fact going to dedicate a whole thread to this scary prospect.

his stance on a two tier healthcare - 2 tier health care?????? all he has said was that we need a private/public partnership in canada to lower costs and deliver more efficient service. He never said he was going to scrap universal health care. Stop believing Liberal and left wing propeganda!!!

I can even say I don't like about Martins stance.. but again.. he is lesser an evil then Harper --- HOW? Has harper stolen billions of dollars? Sorry... most of that simply went "missing". We can only prove that the Fiberals actually STOLE 100 million of it. Has Harper repeatedly lied to us just as Martin and CHretien did?

edit: sounds like all you people want is Anarchy, if you think you can run things better, then ing run for office. Gawd quit your pathetic whining. ------ I dont want anarchy... i want a general strike to make sure the elected government remembers why we elected them!
Matt

he looks ing evil :P

also, you missed the point of my post... PREDICT... not WANT.

I want a minority NDP government, but I predict a Liberal minority.

The bottom line is we need a minority gov't because the Liberals have had total control for too long (and their gov't has really fallen apart since the Martin/Chretien split). I like the prospect of a minority gov't because parties start to work together for votes, compromises are made, etc. etc. I would prefer the NDP in power, because they represent Canada on the international front, and I agree with NDP's stances on several foreign policy issues.

Bahahahahah the best arguement that you can come up with is that he "looks" evil

Lets talk about how chretien looked.... and it seems to me like jack layton is looking an awful lot like ned flanders....

lets hear some GOOD reasons why we should all vote NDP matt...

it wasn't an argument, it was a joke. I think your sarcasm detector is broken.

lets hear some GOOD reasons why we should all vote NDP matt...

1. Opposition to Star Wars missile defence
2. 100% support for Gay rights
3. Movement to modernize marijuana laws
4. Reform of electoral system to better benefit the people
5. Fighting the two-tier healthcare movement
6. Protection of aboriginal treaty rights
7. Protection of environment a priority

... I could probably go on.

Go ahead, vote for Conservatives, I really don't care. My beliefs are with the NDP, yours are with the Conservatives, and I respect that.

Just go out and VOTE, that's the important thing this election. Voter turnout is lower than ever. (21% of people 18-21 in last election, 61% overall)

1. Opposition to Star Wars missile defence --- i agree this is a stupid idea but its #1000 on my priorities list.

2. 100% support for Gay rights --- i beleive harper's only opposition is calling gay marriage a marriage. They would still have the same rights as marriage in a civil union but by not calling it marriage it would be a good comprimise for now.

3. Movement to modernize marijuana laws -- the day the NDP actually do this... its not going to happen anytime soon under any government so quit dreaming.
4. Reform of electoral system to better benefit the people -- exactly what the conservatives want. They also want proportional voting and abolishing the senate or at least making it an elected body of government
5. Fighting the two-tier healthcare movement - WHAT 2 TIER HEALTH MOVEMENT? there isnt one. Its pure propeganda. Read above

6. Protection of aboriginal treaty rights -- yes and no... aboriginals should have the right to self governing territories but at the price of discntinuing handouts. Autonomous regious should be autonomous.

7. Protection of environment a priority --- the Fiberals have signed the kyoto accord at the expense of tens of thousands of jobs. I agree that the environment needs to be protected but money alone wont solve this problem.

if u want a lib minority or a conservative minority you are best voting for the conservatives.

Now, now. LOL, that is exactly what this thread is telling you NOT to do. (strategic voting, that is)

Lib minority would be nice. But not nice enough for me to vote "reform". Ever.

difference between Cons and Lib's

one tells you straight in the eye when they're ing you in the ass... the other tells you there not ing you in the ass while still ing you in the ass.

p.s

I will be voting liberal, its just the lesser of two evils.

The liberals have never been straight about anything they've campaigned on (this applies to the Fed and Provincial) and kept little to no promises.

What is so evil about the Conservatives or NDp Beh? Honestly, people like you Beh, I certainly expect an arguement, reasons, examples of what make the other parties so terrible that re-relecting the people who have stole from you, kept your taxes instead of returning them to the provinces in transfer payements so they can claim a "surplus", and has a history of treating our military and Veterans with disdain, makes even a lick of sense.

Elect the party that has ed you over, and catered to it's rich friends @ your expense, or elect someone new in the hope that there will be true change.

The "lesser of two evil" arguement is pathetic, and shows how shallow and illinformed, or uninformed so many of you truly are.

Sorry, Beh, I missed a page.

As for what ppl may worry about Harper's social views, they hardly matter what his "personal" views are since the laws are already set, and his religion may dictate his personal views, but the conservative party policy is not run by that, it's run by existing party policy.

What do you even know about any of Paul Martin's personal views? This isn't the US policitical system, our leaders don't have massive veto power, they don't personally support and introduce bills of reform, it's always a PARTY platform or issue in this country.

And for your fear-mongering bull, which was the kind of idiocy that kept ppl from voting for the Reform party becasue Preston was a minister. The aspect of voting for social policy that effects Canadians sould belong to the people, and the Reform and Consevative parties want it left up to Candians via refferendums as opposed to the majority party telling everyone how to live. That is a main conservative ideal.

Your Fuher Nazi implications show how mature and knowledgeable you are Beh. Comparing people to the Nazi's is certainly high brow. It's a simple tool people use.. demonize people so that thier ideas will be dissmissed, and laughed @.

Do the world a favour Beh, don't vote, you don't deserve it.

oh come on...do you really believe that position? How many idiots in that party have been ripped for comments they've made with regard to gay issues, immigration, etc?

I'd be frightened to see them in power...the Liberals will maintain power, but will lose seats and their majority, I'm guessing...if they somehow lose, a *very* small minority gov't would be the only thing that would keep me from leaving the country, lol.

lets talk about all the comments that some members of the fiberal party have made. Next lets talk about how much money they STOLE from us. The very fact that the RCMP is investigating the liberal party for corruption should be enough for us to vote elsewhere.
