Nintendo has been around the handheld market for a long time, Im sure many of you remember those Game & Watch handheld games, I still happen to own one of them, Donkey Kong 2, They were the first handheld games to come out, Then years later, Nintendo made the gameboy and it forever changed the handheld industry.

hell yeah, i had octopus and chef. I wonder where they are now?...

oh well i still have my Sega Game Gear :toothless

saw it at E3. was blown away. graphics are nearly as good as in the 128 bit machines.

more stylish, more mature, and more powerful. even the nintendo DS (Dick Sucking) won't match up a bit.

GO SONY!!!!!!!!!!

You ignorant Fool:whip:
Dont count on that,Nintendo has stated that the DS isnt nintendos answer to Sonys PSP.And that the DS isnt the next Game Boy.Im pretty sure nintendo has something up its sleaf...:nervous: Will more than likely hear more At Space World later this year....im pretty sure it aint going to be pretty.

Dont count on specs and graphics just look at what happen to Nokias N-Gage...LMAO

am i the only one who doesnt actually make use of the "portable" factor of GB's? if thats the case, then whats the point in PSP? all the games are just ps2 ports anyway, i might as well just play on my ps2 on a big screen

They don't target the same market anymore though so its hard to compare sony and nintendo. Sony goes for the 16-30 age range and nintendo is for the kiddies. The gameboy advance is a completely lame attempt at a handheld but as there is no competition uptil now it made little or no difference. Should be interesting to see where things go from here.

I find it quite interesting that the DS is going in for a re-design after Nintendo saw the PSP though.:stongue:

Again, Nintendo is going to try to answer the PSP I suppose...but by the time they do it will already be too late. The PSP is going to storm the market, if there is one thing Sony is good at it's marketing. Remember all the rush to get a PS2 when it first released? I can see it being twice as worse for the PSP...

Mr Game+Watch
Game & Watch games are cool :D

I was pretty shocked when Nintendo first announced the DS, but after the E3 presentation, all I can think of is all the creative uses that can be exploited. It's good to see that, now that SEGA's out of the hardware business, SOMEONE still wants to innovate... Sony and M$ (especially M$) are releasing the same games over and over, and quite frankly, it's pretty boring. Though my most wanted games ever right now are : FF12, Ys 6, Gradius V and especially Star Ocean 3 :P

I'll definitely be getting a PSP... the ports of Ys 6 and Tales of Eternia (Tales of Destiny 2 in the US) look fantastic... but I'm just worried, it looks like that thing's gonna go through batteries like there's no tomorrow!

One thing for sure the dev on the psp is way more difficult then the dev on nintendo. So its going to be hard getting a stable line of games when the release comes. They are going to have to manage the battery life, it uses mini dvds which in my case will get really hot which is stated that it doesn't come with a fan. Also another thing is the price of the unit which can range as much as a playstation 2 and am pretty sure the DS will be cheaper. It's going to be interesting how sony figures out a way to push this along. Then again the thing that will bother me the most is which would you rather buy a game for your ps2 or for your handheld? cuz if they are practically the same specs no point in buying two games (unless your one of those hardcore sony fantatics that think godly of it and buy it all giving sony your lump sum of money). G I dunno how they are going to pull that off on the batterlife unless they make you buy another battery or two batteries stuck on the sytem.. The looks and visual of the psp already give it away as being expensive well ironically all sony products are expensive ahahah.
