Glad to see Chicago getting hooked up with it :p

Kryogenifex is the name of the company that makes the systems used in many clubs, and has obviously marketed itself as the "only" vendor out there and made their product name, "Kryo" the buzzword.

There are infact other companies who could do an effect such as this. Every company has their "secret" methods of producing effects, but like any special effect, there really are not that many differences between systems because they all work on the same principle.

It is just like Phazon for sound. They made a name for themselves in the market and thus get business just on their name, not necessarily on the merits of their product versus others.

It is what marketing is all about. Brand recognition is the name of the game. Nike makes uncomfortable shoes that wear out quickly, but they still sell a ton of sneakers every day based on their name alone.

Still grumpy,

MrS

(p.s. This thread title should be changed to "Post Armin thoughts and MrS's grump fest.)

Yeah, what the F#$k is up with bottled water for $4.50? I seem to remember Vision giving water in glasses for free. And, $10.00 for a Red Bull & Vodka...five months ago they were only $7.00. What was wrong with security?

i dont know if this is what everyone else is complaining about but i know they had security that wouldnt let people on the dance floor unless someone left the floor. i lucked out as i was walking up someone was leaving and i didnt have any problems.

i dont know what to tell you about the drinks. they probably figure that they can charge whatever they want and you really have no choice but to pay it.

i thought it was a pretty good night. too bad seneca wasnt there with his laptop.

i had problems going from the 2nd to 3rd floor, and vice versa, on the spiral stairs. the dude just shook his head NO and told me i couldn't come down... i'm like "dude, i'm just going to end up walking all the way back down to the 1st floor and then back up." but he looked pretty serious so i didn't bother arguing with him.

as for the $4.50 waters, that's insane. i've gotten glasses of ice water there for free. i don't know if they stopped doing that, or if they just decided since it was a special event they'd try to make more money off the bottled waters. sometimes it helps if you try going to a different bar in the place.

anyone have more pics from the night? :)

At the end of the night at the bar on the 3rd floor was giving away glasses of water but I kept buying bottles anyways. I remember at one point paying $20 for water and just walking away because I didn't care :p

there was a 5-out-1-in rule to get back into the main room when i used the mens room on the third floor. luckily i snuck myself to 2nd in line and only waited about 2 minutes before 10 people walked out. don't know how long that rule lasted since there was no line an hour later.

didn't Armin also play Evanescence - Hello (Gabriel & Dresden mix)?

Hi, first time poster here, although been reading the forums for a month or two :)

I saw the show from the third floor and it was very good. I never seen AVB before and expected a much more melodic show, but it was definitely a blow against my expectations - I didn't mind though :)

Exactly same thing happened to me, I waited in line probably 20 minutes during AVB's set which kinda frustrated me. At least I talked to some girl in line to pass the time. They told me that exact same rule which I found non-sensical. If they were gonna keep that up, there wouldnt be anyone on the decks in 20 minutes cause everyone seemed to be going to the bathroom at the same time.

You guys seem like a really cool bunch, hopefully I will run into you at future shows. I also had 3 pictures that I took with my camera phone - as soon as I extricate them from there, I'll put them up :)
