ok - that group picture must come down - just want i want on TA - a nice sweaty picture of me

I think I was disappointed with Armin's set because 1) it was so short due to his plane issues - I was really looking forward to see what he could do with a 4-5 hour set and 2) there was no build-up.

One of the things that has always impressed me about Armin was his ability to construct a set with a beginning, middle and end. This set was head-on banging for 2 hours - probably felt that he didn't have time to do a "proper" set - I've always enjoyed his longer (4+ hour) sets, because he so good at constructing a set. So - I guess that's why I feel that his August 03 set is the best one that I've heard at Vision. Some of his other sets in DC at Glow were just as good as his August 03 set at Vision.

I was more impressed with Mazi than I was with Armin, although I fully enjoyed both of them. I'd basically agree with your entire post.

however, i will note that a music snob who hasn't listened to trance for about 4 years was dancing his ass off from 3-4 am and another friend who is a house head enjoyed armin's set. so - maybe i just expected more?

I think the TA crew all did... it's just crappy circumstances that all. Armin didn't have time for a proper set and so for those who know better it wasn't as good as it could have been. Last august has to be the best Armin set I've ever seen.

Think we can get him back before July 24th :) ?

i dont know if this is what everyone else is complaining about but i know they had security that wouldnt let people on the dance floor unless someone left the floor. i lucked out as i was walking up someone was leaving and i didnt have any problems.

- That's why i stayed on the dance floor :)

a couple times i looked over and saw security blocking people to get in so i said screw it and stayed in there. couldn't get anything to drink, but oh well. i didn't want to miss Armin !

I might as well add my .02 also... I thought this night was not nearly as good as last Feb. or September, those nights were amazing!! I do agree with everyone that the music was bumpin all night long, with little letdown. I like my Armin with a side of soft stuff though...
We got there early, and the place was empty for a while, it kinda made me nervous that the turnout would be ty. We went down to the Lair and when we came back up it was packed;but not nearly as much so as PVD. I too did enjoy Mazi. We were groovin by the DJ booth for a long time--wondering when is Armin going to start this extended set??? (Thanks CT for letting us in on the scoop)I can't believe how quickly the end of the night came. Three hours is way too short for my liking (was it even 3 hours???) Before I knew it we headed down to the dance floor to catch the last few songs, the lights came on, and the music stopped...and we were like, WTF??? One more song, but there were no more  . I would rate the whole night as a 6 out of 10, definitely have had WAY better nights at vision...
As for the security: The seemed even worse than at PVD. We actually made our way up yo VIP ~2:30 to sit and chill for a bit. The secrity monster left his post for a couple of minutes and our whole group went right up.
Bottled water: It's been expensive since the new year, but it is total BS!! Last time at Armin I was so f-ed that I gave the bartender a $20 and walked away thinking it was a $5. oops. The womens bathroom was empty every time I went, so I'd just go to the far side and fill up my bottle over there.

Can't wait for Tiesto. Never seen him, ready for another nice night at Vision!

Heh - read my previous post I did the exact same thing this time, only it was just because I didn't care to get the change :p

As much as I'm not excited to see Tiesto for as much as it is, if it's anywhere near as crazy as the last time he was @ Vision it will be a hell of a show.
Porky
