That said, there are a lot of people in Calgary whose summers are more or less ruined now (until the Stampede anyways =P); don't think it would have been quite the same thing had TBay lost.
Welp, time to enjoy Euro 2004, and the Olympics, and then rest up for the main event at the end of August. World Cup of Hockey baby; can't ing wait! |

Seriously the Canucks have been awful as a team (i dunno who to blame)..probably the lame ownership....tho brian burke needs to be hired somewhere..he was funny as feck in his bertuzzi interview answers. I told my American friends..better savor it....I bet that there will be no NHL season for 2004-2005. |

Well I'm English and should be all about Football, but I been around Canadians to much and have the hockey bug, I fully support the Flames they did better than what was expected, for that they get all my respect, there still winners in my eyes, but being English and liking a sport, I will show my sportsmanship.

dude ill argue hockey with you all day long because ive played the sport for 12 years and am playing at a level higher than anyone on this board. im not going to dispute the fact that tamps is led by canadians, big whoop. lets take a look at the world junior championships this year, seems to me the canucks lost. ive been to the hall of fame 6 times, and played junior hockey in canada. you cant call me a stupid american. alls im saying is that i said tamps would win the cup, and then a bunch of canadians came in and tried to argue. calgary is just a flash in the pan, and tampa will almost surely win another cup soon. the canadian based teams will not win a cup for a while. yes hockey is life in canada, and so what they probably will win the world cup in a few months, but canada was also favored a few months ago in those world junior champiosnhips i broght up. will over skill any day. |

But which country got their asses kicked in the olympics on their own soil within 24 hrs? America lost to Canada 3-1 in the women's final and then got destroyed 5-2 in men's final (Canada is better? Yup) See top level American hockey does not even make mid level here.
trash talk all you want, you are the first person that I will laugh at, when Canada takes the World Cup in September. Wait till thursday's NHL awards....how many awards will be won by Canadians? and not Americans. Funny how you guys tend to disappear come playoff time with the exception of a few. You guys are just jealous that you can't buy world domination in Hockey and Canada will continue to kick America's ass in international ice hockey. |
