I've heard various trance addicts say something along the lines of, "OMFG ALL OF T3H CLUBZ IN MY t0WN PLAY FKIN HIP HOP OMG WTF IS WRONG WITH THOSE IDIOTHS DONT THEY NO THAT TRANZ IS t3h R0x0RZ???!!!!111@" So should it be any surprise that hip hop lovers bitch whenever they hear "techno " in a club? Seems like everybody is a hypocrite.

The guy who wrote that letter, and the guy who started the above thread are on the exact same level...well actually id rate the techno hater a bit higher...his arguement was writen a tiny bit better. |

My response to the hick from the midwest:
Maybe if EDM had some "image" where dorky white people could feel cool saying they listen to it than mr. hick is right when he says EDM isnt for him. maybe Tiesto can come out with a video with a bunch of girls in biknis and him in a hummer. Or maybe we should try to get PVD to co-host with Carson Daily on MTV. Give me A F ing break!! Mr. Hick typifies what white dorky america is all about, crass tasteless society!! What else explains the midwests poor sense of taste in music, food, clothing, etc. If EDM were on MTV all day long and was played on radio stations 24/7 than a switch would occur. when all these people hear or see is rock, rap, and crap no sh!t their not going to have an opinion on EDM. I think alot of white dorky guys are just so concerened about what other people think that they never actually understand what msuic is about. And a dance club should be for dancing not trying to grind on some girls ass you f#ckin dork!! Maybe you should get on a plane and travel a bit around the world and leave your small town ohama to see what a dance club is really about. Mr. Hick does have a good point though:tongue3 , I think we all can appericate the concept of drinking cheap beer while listen to rap music or some person whine about how he wants to kill himself so the whitest of white guys can feel "cool" and lets not forget those dope beats of old 70's and 80' music can give us dorks an opportunity to grind on some girls....OHHHH PLEAZZZZZ :haha: This person is obviously uncultured, uneducated, and lets not forget a red neck hick :haha:

| that other thread says it all....the people mystery is referring to used to be like 'mr hick'. for some reason some people like to throw themselves fanatically at one style of music at a time. they live for this one style, denouncing any other style, and god help us if someone should anyone dare say anything against it. the style may change several times throughout their life-span, usually what they think their friends think is cool, but the singleminded zealousness remains. that may have been difficult to read. |

Someone in an earlier reply said it...people who don't know EDM in the US refer to anything that sounds electronic as "techno," whether it's house, breaks, trance, real techno, or whatever.
$20 says the DJs he heard played lots of sandstorm :-p

Open Letter To All Techno Music Playing Omaha DJs:
Lay off the E and stop trying to force techno music down the throat of every club patron where you are spinning tunes. Not everyone in the club has pupils the size of dimes and is on a 4-hour touchy-feely roller coaster ride. It may be news to you, but most people do not like techno music. Recently I have been to LA, LV, and NYC and I have seen this dislike for techno. A few months ago, I was at Club Seven in Vegas and had to suffer through 30 minutes of techno music as soon as I got to the club. The extremely large dance floor had two people dancing during this time. Then the DJ played some JA Rule and faster than you can say "Techno music sucks," the dance floor filled up with nearly 100 people. I have seen countless nearly empty dance floors in Omaha while techno music is being played by some DJ who is trying to impress his buddies or clueless boss/club owner. Instead of playing techno, stick with songs on the play list of "The Channel" and mix in some old school along with some favorites from the 70s and 80s.

P.S. Quit playing the new rock music, too. Although there is a lot of very good new rock music out today, you can count on one hand the number of new rock songs you can actually dance to.

Good thing he doesn't like "techno" music, so people like us don't have to deal with dumb s like him when we're in the clubs trying to have a good time.
