I see you're from Calgary, I'd suggest looking in the bargain finder for some decks and a mixer. 1200's seem to pop up there every month or so. |

| But spective is not married, nor does he have a fiancee. I bet this is someone defrauding people with his name. Spective as I've known him for yrs, is a standup guy, I bet this is someone using his name to their advantage, he is not married, I'm sure of that. I will say that whoever is doing this should be stopped, it's wrong. Could be spective, who knows, it's wrong. |

Sorry to hear that!
Did you pay by PayPal - if you paid by Credit Card, you should be able to get some of the money back.
Contact all authorities possible - and preferably my phone or snail mail, many companies seem having easier ignoring mails than direct contact.
Hope this works out for you somehow - keep us informed on this case. |

well i've contacted everyone i could about this. paypal, fbi, and the usps. i am going to the police tomorrow. i can't believe there are s like that out there just to screw people. i'm out $900, my parents are extremely pissed off, and now i don't have enough money to get any dj equipment at all. great way to start djing, isn't it?
to ADMIN/MOD: please ban Stacey-L and Spective from TA and save whatever information you have from them: IPs, email, PMs, server logs, etc. in case the FBI should wish to subponea them. |

Hey folks,
I'm not really a member of this community, but I've been informed about the thread and feel obligated to let people know about the person going by "Shehryar Qamar," who currently has about $2300 of my money for an item never delivered. The site perviously linked to in this thread is mine, which details the entire experience ( the original page and blog updates).
The long and short, if you'd rather not read all of that, is that Qamar advertised on eBay a brand new Powerbook G4 15", totally pimped out and never opened. I used "buy it now" to place the order, paid, played email tag as nothing happened for a week or so, then I finally received... an entirely different, older machine that had been damaged. There's probably an $800-$900 difference in value between the two units, discounting the damage.
I'm normally a cautious guy, so I was surprised to see all this happen - the seller had %95 positive on eBay with a 5 year history. Oh well, ya just never know...
It also happened that shortly after the bogus item was delievered Shehryar's account (vinyl_pushers) relisted the same auction at least 4 times, and before he was banned from eBay he was listing stuff that I'm pretty sure was flat out nonexistant (Dual CPU Power Mac G5s, high end audio equipment, etc).
I of course was a little pissed off at this, and waded through a string of lies from the guy. He pretended to be "Antonella," who is supposedly his wife - I'm sure that's a lie, as you see the exact same MO on these boards with a different name.
The guy pretty much stopped responding to me for a month or so. Then he emailed me a couple of weeks ago asking that I return the powerbook and stating that paypal would return the money, but when I replied he said he didn't have enough cash and that it would take him several months to give me a refund. Oh yeah... I'm going to ship it to you and wait for the cash, you betcha!
So I've contacted everybody I could think of to try and get my money back. My credit card company (American Express) has told me I'll get a refund if I ship the incorrect unit to Paypal. I imagine Paypal is going to be a little pissed at Qamar for this, and I wouldn't be surprised if they set loose some lawyers in his general direction. As a scammer, Qamar wasn't so good - I've got his real phone number, his address, his name, the whole 9 yards. Using paypal to scam is a really stupid thing to do - they know EVERYTHING about you, and when American Express started pushing Paypal didn't have much choice but to cooperate (Paypal doesn't care about individual customers, but if you sick your credit card company on them they'll feel the burn).
So that's about it. I'd also like to say hi to Shehryar, who I am sure is reading this forum. More fun things are indeed headed your way, and I hope you've enjoyed holding onto my money - was it really worth ing up your whole life for it? |
