Mine was quite the story...
I wasn't nervous getting mine pulled, it was gonna be all 4 at once and I'd had crazier stuff done when I was in 2nd grade and really mashed my face good, so this was gonna be a cakewalk. I get in, they start the anesthetic, feeling a bit drowsy, and they start the nitrous oxide. Wicked floating sensation, intense body buzz, but the thing is, I always seem to have a strong tolerance to these types of drugs. The dentist tells a joke to one of the nurses, and I laugh at it, and he says "be quite, you're on laughing gas you'll laugh at anything". I wasn't impressed by the remark and told him to 'SHUT THE UP, I HEARD EVERY WORD YOU SAID YOU ING PRICK!' [this is an actual quote]. NEWAY, I didn't go unconscious during the surgery, so I watched them pull all 4 teeth, but I was too high and too numb to care. As I came round, I refused to allow them to change my bloody gauze and walked right out of the office. My dad was chasing me down the street and I walked home blood dripping from my numbed mouth yelling at my dad 'I'm fine I'm fine, just leave me alone".
After I got home the next couple of days, I tried to minimize the amount of tylenol 3's I used, cuz I wanted to use them in conjunction with weed or alcohol later, but like 2 weeks later when I went to go get them, I found my parents had 'disposed' of them. Felt so crappy that I endured needless pain and got none of the benefits. On the positive side, my parents still think that I'd never try drugs cuz they saw and kept reminded me of how ugly I got off the anesthetic and nitrous oxide. Don't worry tho, you're surgery won't be as bad as mine. None ever are

OMG seriously had to be one of the worst experiences of my life! Everything that could go wrong went wrong with me, i didn't leave my bed for 7 days, got infected, i threw up for 5 days stright, and when i went back for a check up the docter had to cut it open again to fix the infection and DOESN'T freeze it and it hurt that you wouldn't believe! Good luck! i know people that have had them out and ate pizza the same day! and i know someone that got nerve damage in his jaw for 2 months but that doesn't happen very often!!! Well best of luck and ya the drugs are good, don't feel a thing! :D :D

According to my last x-rays, the dentist says I still don't have any *knocks on wood*

After reading this thread I hope it stays that way too :nervous:

I HAVE to get my wisdom teeth pulled soon. I still have to go for my consultation with the Orthodontist but I keep putting it off cuz I'm SCARED TO DEATH!!! I've never had any kind of operation before so I don't know what to expect. AND I've NEVER heard any good stories about getting wisdom teeth pulled. They're all horror stories so I'm terrified.:nervous:

My one friend got all four pulled a couple months back. She felt okay after surgery so she decided to go for a milkshake at McDonald's after. Instead of getting a spoon to eat it with she used the straw....the sucking pulled the gauze out and her gums just started gushing blood!! Needless to say she didn't finish the milkshake....EWWW

All I can say is Good Luck and I hope everything goes smoothly and recovery is quick.;)

haha yeah, that's another thing.. don't smoke or use straws or anything else say bye bye stitches..

i learned that the hard way when i smoked for some needed pain relief.. all i ended up with was a bloody, drippy mouth for the night :p
