I just counted mine also. My top two grew in fine. My bottom one on the left side is growing in at what feels like a 45 degree angle and thats the one that hurts :( It doesnt hurt ALL the time, just goes through stages where it hurts for about a week, then goes away for some months, even a year at one point and then comes back again. The other side causes no pain and has been 1/4 of the way out for about years now.

had all four out a couple months ago. I was fine the next day. came back after a week for a follow up and I got "I can't believe they're completely healed in a week." "you're my new best patient" :)

Note: I was having the time of my life before they started pulling. NOS, valium drip and something to freeze the lower half of my face. I was conscious and happy the entire time, didn't hurt when he was pulling either. Gave me perc's which I only took the first day. I was warned I could be out of it for a few days, but I was fine by the evening. Stitches were annoying but they didn't notice them the majority of the first week and the surgeon cut them out at the followup.

That was that, virtually no pain, no swelling whatsoever it was easy.

I'm hoping to be one of the 30% that doesn't need them out. **knock on wood.** BUT my friend got all four out a while ago and she was smoking pot through her nose the day of, and sniffing her codene. hehehehe, i have weird friends....

Do you get "12 year molars"?

I am unsure if I even have my wisdom teeth; methinks negative.

I recall when I was 10-11 I grew some molars and my dentist said they were "12 year molars". Perhaps they were my wisdom teeth? But I don't think they are. I have enough room for 2 on both top and bottom of my mouth.

Hmmmmmmmmm....

Well good news not everyone has to get their teeth pulled only if they bother them...i think everyone has them its just if they grow or not! :D

when i got my teeth pulled out.. i got all 4 of them done at once.. 2 bottom ones were on a angle so they had to break them in to 4 pieces first.. so it started with them druggin me .. oh ya!! i think i got laughin gas.. duno but couldnt feel a thing.. he started yankin at my teeth 2 top ones jus came out easily.. bottom ones.. were a little harder.. heard and felt the dentist crushin them.. but felt nothing.. 20 minutes later.. he was stitchen my mouth up.. and it was done in about 24 minutes.. after.. there was alot of blood.. but thats normal.. mouth didnt really swell up.. and i used no painkillers. so its not that bad.. well for me.. i was actually surprised.. but it all depends on who takes ur teeth out, only annoying thing is that food gets stuck in the holes where ur teeth use to be and u constantly clean it out.. thats about it!!

THANX SO MUCH for the past expriences guys. it helps to read about what could and might happen. I'm feeling quite uncomfortable, 14 hours after surgery......

day1-- WEll... mine just came out on thursday morning around 1130am.
I got the IV, with laughing gas and oxygen and then frozen mouth. WOW... i was knocked out good!... I was in pure dreamland for about 45mins and had no idea what hapenned until I woke up to gauze in my mouth. New gauze and ice all day thursday... how uncomfortable. the T3s are doing for the pain, but its pissing me off how I can't eat normally!!!! I was drooling like a dog when I saw the Harvey's SIrloin burger commercial!

day2-- it's Friday, 7:30am and I had the worst sleep ever. Can't roll on my sides cuz it would hurt. At least the wounds are closed and all i need to do now is clean the gaps and ice all day again. I hope my swelling clears up ASAP. I have work on tuesday night and the lady is coming back from vacation on wednesday (wow it's gonna be great to see her again).

I must say this is the most crude surgical recovery process I've ever known. I would figure that for something like this they could keep you in a hospital bed. Goes to show how ty the healthcare system has become.

So...about 30 mins ago I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed. We'll see how it goes after the drugs wear off. However, up to this point, it ain't bad at all. Heck, I'd do it all over again just for the drugs (right now I feel like I would after a few bumps of meow, except no tripping out LOL). I was able to walk OK right afterwards (some stumbling at first, but that went away after about 5 minutes).

Got into the chair > hooked me up to a blood pressure/heart rate measuring machine > IV > oxygen mask > teeth taken out (felt absolutely nothing. All over in less than 20 minutes.

We'll see how I feel later on/tomorrow.

Oh, and I do look like a hamster (sorta...hehe)

hehe, the swelling will go up a bit the second and third day, then after that it'll go down. I went under as well, didn't want to feel or hear . Hope you have a good blender :)

Ack! The pain killers...zey do nothing!

I simply cannot recount my wisedom teeth story.

It was the worst pain I've ever gone through in my life (for days on end).

I can't re-live it. :(

I've never had to have my wisdom teeth taken out. Hopefully I won't have to! I heard the older you get, the more chances are it's gonna hurt! I'd be so scared. I'm a wuss!
