| I'm really not a sad person. I'm pissed that I live in the armpit of the bay area, Alameda Ca. That's what makes me angry and become emo and goth at night. |

Not to bump a dead thread, but I always like reading this one when i am in a down mood, like I am tonight.
My life feels like its rapidly spiraling out of control, and all my attempts to reign it in worsen the problems. I keep overburdening myself (see about 6 posts up)with responsibilities and duties, and it's seriously affecting me.
Not really depressed or contemplating suicide (well, not seriously), but I am really down, and felt like resurrecting this thread. |

Hey mate, not good to hear about that.
I found your posts pretty funny today, so maybe there is a link.
Have you tried hypnotherapy?
I'm thinking about doing it to improve my productivity, confidence in new situations, and faster achievement of my goals. Its become quite popular, and it seems that you have got most stuff right you just need a little fine tuning. |

Quoted for replication
I love when you sit there and you feel so down and you know you're being totally irrational which basically makes things worse and you cant change anything |

Agreed lol I always try to 1 up every one in material items and rub it in because of that.
I have depression 24/7 and I don't take medication. |

Hey man,
The best option is honestly to keep seeing your psychologist / psychiatrist... these guys will teach you coping skills like biofeedback and which is pretty effective.
And don't believe the people say about taking drugs is bad... there's always a negative connotation association w/ antidepressants, and it's tarded, because they are very effective, alongside psychological treatment.
It's just that most often people associate antidepressants failing because a) they don't give it long enough to work (~1 - 2 months) b) because they see side effects initially (which is the usual case) and c) because they stop therapy too soon after they see results.
Btw someone mentioned taking E w/ antidepressants, don't take other drugs w/ these lol... there's a lot of interactions which can lead to Serotonin Syndrome.
Btw, there's also another option, which is like the no. 1 treatment in Germany which is St. John's Wort (herbal treatment)... but again, don't use this if you're on any antidepressants atm. Just an option in the future if applicable.

I'm going through much of the same right now.
A rolling stone gathers no moss. Getting off my ass and doing things that are productive and fun is what keeps me going. Orbax has the right idea.
With that said, it's cold as outside and windy, and I'm stuck inside tonight :( |
