For some really technical djs you should listen to some hiphop or techno.. Most trance djs aren't even close in their technical abilities to a regular techno or hiphop dj.. Carl Cox and Dave Clarke are IMO some of the most technical djs out there...
Noree
Digweed, Digweed, and uhhhhhhhhh Digweed!!
chesco
Richie hawtin....
christian varela is quite good too - not really my style but a goods dj all the same
nrjizer
Zabiela
Carl Cox
Sasha/Digweed
Dave Clarke
Sander Kleinenberg
Timo Maas

Well, there's a lot. As far as Trance goes, I'd pick D:Fuse, j00f and Markus, and probably Holden (but I haven't heard a lot of his sets). PvD definately does not get my vote. He can mix quite well sometimes, but he's definately inconsistant.

As far as i can tell i'll nominate Dj Tiesto and Paul van Dyk. I heard some good stories about John '00' Flemming and Digweed as well, but i've never heard a set of either one of them yet. Will check them out soon :)

But, ehm, what IS trainwrecking? :sadgreen:

Most skilled trance DJ? I can't agree with that even though i like Tiesto. Phynn is a rising talent, but Armin would be my choice as technically the best trance DJ i heard so far.

Oh and yes, Ben Lost as well. He got skills.

dj yoda

His scratching, use of samplers efx and vdj is second to none. he da man.:p

As for these people who say that the like of halliwell and tiesto are the best in the business, grow up.

How many of these people can boast 15 - 25 hour sets, how many of them perfected the use of technology in dj'ing (final scratch, sampling etc). You really need to look outside the box that is trance to find the truly good edm dj's..

Armin? that guy has one of the worst trainwrecks to date, i forget what set it was but he had to stop and start up again it was so ed. Ferry is amazing, and i would put PVD above Tiesto. Trance is alot harder to mix well compared to prog or house.

the techno djs are amazing at beat matching as well. Dave the drummer with 3 tracks on the go simultaniously.... sooo good
