the thing about pvd's mixing i've found from the times I've seen him, he tends to follow 1 of 2 transition styles.

bassline to bassline

or

bassline-kickdrum-bassline
http://kr00t0n.artists.mpfspromotions.com/Sample2.mp3

couple this with the fact that I'm not into the style of trance that he plays makes me not a huge fan of him

as trance djs go, i find up n coming or smaller club residents tend to be better skill wise than the big name trance djs

There is no such It just sounds like what described based on the differnces within the soild baselines he plays. For example . song A is a soild base line whilst song B in soild base line with a kick.

Huh?
kr00t0n
what i mean is, 9 times out of 10, he'll either mix from bassline to bassline (when the bassline of the 1st track ends, the next bar will be the start of the bassline of the 2nd track) or leave a 32 beat segement in between basslines, where you would just have kicks and percs with no underlying bassline from iether track

it's just what i've noticed
demo84
James Lavelle always blows me away :eyes: and Zabiela
dark_tenshi
Anthony Pappa and Danny Howells never cease to amaze me with their mixing skills.

after seeing zabiela live a few months back, he's most definitely the top technical dj out there

I have to say digweed is by far the best technically, but I like sasha's track selection a bit better.
